PESHAWAR : Much hullabaloo surrounded the submission of Panamagate inquiry report regarding Sharif family’s offshore properties by the joint investigation team in the Supreme Court and political leaders virtually had a field day in what appeared to be a politically-charged day.

Chief Minister Khyber Pukhtonkhwa stood out as an exception with his rather belligerent statement hinting at his fears of PM getting acquittal in the Panama case tangle.

In his statement, Khattak said he would allow corruption in Khyber Pukhtonkhwa if PM Nawaz Sharif went scot-free in the wake of JIT probe report regarding offshore properties of the Sharif family. Without elaborating further he said: “it is clearly evident what decision is about to come.”

He insisted that PM Sharif neither had any evidence nor any record to defend his case. He hailed it as a big achievement of PTI chairman Imran Khan to bring PM to the court. “If PM Sharif had money trail, the case would not have dragged to this level,” he said. The Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT), formed to probe the money trail of ruling Sharif family’s offshore properties, submitted its fourth and final report to the Supreme Court today.

Three-judge bench, headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, took up the Panama Papers implementation case and adjourned the hearing till next Monday to examine the lengthy inquiry report.

The six-member investigation team, led by Deputy Director General FIA Wajid Zia, was given sixty days to complete the task.

acha, ap tun mind bhi read karta hai logon ke aur sath sath intention pe bhi fatway pass karta hai, any normal human will percieve it to be a sarcastic comment to spite pmln but u are a special one arent u?

.
I don't see any sarcasm in that sir. Besides its highly irresponsible for a leader of an entire province to pass such remarks even in a sarcastic manner. Political parties aside, corruption is already part of our nation's psyche and its everywhere whether its KPK, Punjab, Sindh or any other province.

True, you don't have to allow it. Corruption is already there, work on eliminating it. Though with Imran Khan on top I doubt KP is as corrupt as it used to be under ANP/PPP alliance. At least on provincial government level.

.
its sad that a prime minister could be so shameful to not resign being so corrupt shameful family with no self respect badmaashi and shocking to see we have big supporters of them here.

PM has lost moral, legal grounds to retain office — he must resign: Bilawal Bhutto

PPP Chairman Bilwal Bhutto-Zardari on Tuesday lent his support to the rising chorus of demands for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's resignation following the revelations made in the report submitted by the Panamagate joint investigation team (JIT) to the Supreme Court on Monday.

Bilawal, who was addressing a press conference in Islamabad following a high-level huddle of party leaders, also suggested that a case should be filed against the premier. He further said that the prime minister had lost all ethical and legal grounds to retain the premiership.

"They [the Sharif family] used to say that we're presenting accounts for the last three generations for scrutiny — what we have found instead is that the report has exposed all three generations of the first family as thieves," he remarked at one point.

"The rule of law should be equal for all. It shouldn't be that if a reference is filed against a politician from Sindh, his name is immediately placed on the exit control list, but the rules keep changing for the people of Punjab," he observed.

To a question of whether the PPP may launch a grassroots agitation movement, the PPP chairman said that his party was devising its future course of action and "all options are being considered".

Bilawal said he had also directed Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah to contact all opposition parties and devise a joint strategy on the issue.

Recalling his party's victories in by-elections on Sunday, Bilawal expressed confidence that the PPP would sweep the next general elections, "whenever they are held".

Politics is a cruel business. PPP talking about moral grounds and taking a stand against corruption. What more can a person say.
