i would not risk secularism for development.bjp has to come down from pro hindu stand to completely neutral stand but i don't think it is possible because their all politics and core is those ideas.one can argue that congress is pro minority and i would also agree with them.. but unlike bjp congress's core agenda is not centered around minority politics..it uses minority voters for its advantage.. and vice versa..it's a question of who wil change first..the thinking process (voting pattern ) of minorities or the thinking process of party..somebody has to initiate it.

There is nothing 'secular' about the brand of 'secularism' on exhibition by the Congress/Left today.

Fair enough - but the problem is nationalism as shown by the BJP is easily mistaken for 'Hindu' nationalism which is not the case. And conversely pro-minorityism automatically becomes secularism.
