Data on incomes and wealth suggest India is far more unequal than official estimates based on consumption expenditure data suggest

Seriously !!! World was never in state of Equality to begin With . Equality is an Utopian Phenomenon .
The moment its achieved , Society crumbles and begins a new .

There will never be perfect equality, but there is more equality or less equality.

Capitalism is anti-equality as what drives one to excellence is the disproportionate reward.

IMO equality is pretty much a useless measure of development as its more ideological and idealistic than real and useful. HDI, life expectancy, access to education and healthcare are real indicators.

However it is a useful social measure to predict and prevent issues caused by inequality like resentment, crime etc.

thats rtight there will always be have and have nots and class struggle will always be there like it has always been there some will have power while most wont and thats the whole idea but those who highlight it onli in refrence to india are just palin hypocrates and jealous of the fact that a nation that was once one of the most poor nations is rising to challenge there athourity :coffee:
