Ah the good old days, when we directly threatened them with war and invasions if they did anything against our interests.

I thought the same....now we have much more firepower....but not enough balls from politicians....we should have either never get involved with Syria or just invade and hang Assad....they really fvcked up big time in Syria.

I was two times in China. From Hongkong to Shenzhen for business. Never had problems.
At train crossing point to Chinese mainland, after passport control in first floor,
Chinese Intelligence asked me always time before trespassing to mainland, why I was travelling to China,
cause it was a green passport with "ex-profession" remarked.
That was all. No hostility. My friends in Shenzhen were super in hospitality.
But traditional "regional food" was for me strange.
I preferred some western fast food chains and only "visible and for me identifiable food" in our hotel,
it was 4 stars.
I enjoyed traditional women Wednesday with respect and was only talking with the beautiful women and watching.

Shenzhen... went to buy cheap copy products did you ? You should travel to Kunming, you'll see muslim in that region, and they don't see that many tourists over there. Also travel to quandong they got muslim restaurents over there. Spicy food normally saves you from having diarrhea.

Think of it like this, US was colonized by European powers some 500 years ago, they broke free, won their freedom. US has a shortlived history compared to all other "old" powers. But they've done great things in that time (also terrible things), but because of their short history they don't have any attachment to the past like many of the older powers have. You may not like the US, but they're definitely better than any of the other options. China, would annex everything with oil or ressources in it. only reason they're not going after russia is because of the nukes. Russia, well, look at crimea. The US, just want capitalism to rule and such, like a merchant. just look at their relation with KSA, plenty of oil and money changing hands, no problem.

Not copies. Friends bought some capacity of a factory to let manufacture components which were later finally assembled abroad in an east EU country and branded with the label made in EU. It is legal, most companies do that.
For me Guanzou and Shenzen are already fused. Yes there are some Kebap shops present, operated from Afghans and Kurds. Ethnic Uigur Chinese prefer to speak English in public, but as you mentioned some are present there and make business.
