Why Tunisia’s Transition to Democracy Is Succeeding While Egypt Falters

my friend all of this are just rumors this is brotherhood propganda i posted links what actions did the west do to harm the brotherhood rule ?
the brotherhood protests are getting less numbers over the time they have done their worse after reab3a and Egypt still standing and will forever stand proud

Okay whatever you say, the MB made mistake of having same arrogance as liberals are right now it will bite them in the back soon. The situation is getting worse and his path will fail him trust me.

.
Congratulation to Tunisians, there are definitaley not enough democratic Muslim countrys in the world.

.
we don't need to glorify Bourguiba he is a dictator as bin Ali
the glory is need to given to Tunisian people
You may not like Bourguiba, but facts are facts and his imprint on the today's Tunisian politics are a testimony of his legacy!
Ben Ali is a dictator, nobody is going to argue on that...But you can't deny that despite his ruthlessness, Tunisia was stable and flourishing under his tenure to the point where here GNP was an envy to many Arab countries. You didn't have the Chaambi Mountain cyst, political opponent were jailed not assassinated, political islam was combatted and the Ghanouchi alike exiled...Look what Ghanouchi brought you, collapse of the economy, rise of the salafism and takfirism, Qatar , and Tunisians female sent off to Syria...That's ennahdha Tunisian emancipation program to you!

Pending the vote on the adoption of the full document, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, January 25, the HuffPost Maghreb offers his Top 8 nuggets, for better and for laughter.
1. Best Of Gassas

1st i don't like any political party ( all liars )
me i like the next gov be by Tunisian youth not by Bourguiba followers how are they 80 year old
you are Algerian you don't know what Bourguiba followers do .. don't look at Tunis and say they do good .. they are traitors . for example beji kayed sebsi a document proving that France granted him citizenship after helping the troops in Tunisia in the forties

Everybody was french in that time...And to the elite and intellectuals, it was granted first..Your grandparents were too, are they traitors in your eyes? That is a silly reason!..You need to research Bourguiba biography and not to limit your judgment on one piece of paper.

.
We know what you call democrats: zionist Al Qaeda

.
It is Algeria that saved Tunisia from collapsing. Militarily and financially....if you only knew!
It is Algeria's capability that kept Lybian militia's from taking Tunisia and kept Qatar at bay!

Libyan militia are bunch of armed stupid people our army can and did handle them

At the dawn of the revolution, $110 millions were given to Tunisia. That's what was divulged by the newspapers on a $2 billions that were needed...But knowing our system and knowing what Tunisia did for Algerian during the 90's, tthe Algerian financial contribution to the stability of Tunisia is a lot larger. They just don't talk about it, for fear of being accused of interference in Tunisian politics. Algeria always kept a neutral stance in neighboring states. But Tunisia's past action and supports to all our causes can't leave Algeria neutral in Tunisia's plight.

All the Tunisians were at that time. You were a French protectorate..IE considered as French citizen with full right..
Our case was a little different, not until the plan of Constantine...early 60's ..that our status was upgraded from indigenous Muslims to Algerians (the way french settlers were known and called)

I read this article a few days ago, wanted to post it in a thread here, but thought that it should be some Arab brother who should do it. I have already gotten into spats with Egyptians, and I did not want to go that route.

I do whole-heartedly wish that a handful of Arab countries should act as vanguard for political reforms around the Arab world, nevermind what Gulf Arabs think or act. The future of Islamic world has a lot to gain from political reforms in the Arab countries. We have Malaysia, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan (work in progress), Indonesia, etc... But we do not have a single Arab country that is known for democracy. I hope Tunisia goes through a round of normal elections to cement its credentials. We need more. We need to empower OIC, and only democratic Muslim countries can do so.

You make a good point! but in reality, Arabs spend more money to destabilize each other that spending for a good common cause. The era of Bhuto, Faisal , Boumediene, Sukarno, is gone. The last four years should have opened everybody eyes on how pathetic they are..

.
The Tunisians are slightly (only slightly) more tolerant of each othere

They have tried to do stupid things as well but they have been lucky

Lets not discount the luck factor when it comes to Tunisia

The conservative and secular muslims in Tunisia have not been so standoffish

In Egypt the secularists demands to destroy conservative muslims and not allow them to contest, win/lose elections has led them to this point
