I went to Turkey in 2002 when I was like in Grade 3. Yes I have been but it has been ages.
I never knew why Tofas was so popular.
its all the same except trabant in east germany. that was something else. The Yugoslavs called it Yugo or Zastava

CzechoSlovakia had Skoda which is VW now!Trabant was built with duraplast plastics
In Poland they had Polonez
This car was a unbelievable cheap car. That's why he is so popular among Yugoslav people.
There is some legendary stories about Yugoslavian standard of living in 70s, tbh it was really the best times in Balkan history.
During 70s with Yugoslavian standard of living you can easily buy this car with SINGLE SALARY. There was few million of these cars only by end of 80s and all that in small country with only 18 million people.
It's real shame Yugoslavia broke in the inferno of the 90s it was decent communist country it was the envy of East and West had great ties with both sides of the Cold War and Tito was pretty decent leader shame he did not groom a good successor I have met Bosniaks,Serbs and even Albanians from Kosovo who wish the 90s wars and break up were avoided
The fact the Yugo passport could get you anywhere in the cold war is pretty interesting
Yugoslavia was destined to collapse, it was small European Union. Too much hate and too much unresolved issues.
I really think there is no more hate anywhere in the world as in the Balkans.
