You know what's funny? When US power was at its peaks - in the 1950's and 1990's - Americans didn't need to say they were a superpower. Everyone just knew it and Americans didn't even care because they were extremely secure. If you have to verbally say you're a superpower, you're not a superpower.

funny, when the US was an actual hyperpower in the 1950's, the US had 50% of global GDP and a single average working man could raise a family with 3 kids.
