Sikhs USED to be a large proportion of the British Indian army because the British found them more loyal to the white man than to India and Indians.

Britishers used Biharis against the Sikh Empire. When Biharis rebelled in 1857, Sikhs wanted revenge so they sided with British. Thereafter Britishers stopped recruiting Biharis and encouraged more Sikhs to join. Also they considered a monotheistic religion superior than what they perceived as polytheistic heathens (I don't feel this way and know enough about Hinduism to know that both Sikhism and Hinduism can be monistic.)

There needs to be better leadership. Voters of Punjab must choose better. They have far too long been swayed by the rhetoric of religion and panth. Its time they start voting for people who won't sell them to earn money by drugs. Its time they start voting for development.

Actually they have no option..At this time no one would vote for Congress.Akali is corrupt to the core & BJP won't fight alone..So only option is AAP..If BJP goes alone then I would have supported them but as they are going with Akalis they need to lose..
