Why the current situation is positive

I decide whats tolerable for me and i have no problem to pay more for clean energy. Nuclear power is not a solution for germany. We don´t even have a place for nuclear waste storagement. The desaster in the Asse proved that.

And i don´t see why i should buy cheap gas on the price of supporting facist Putin. We have to agree to disagree in this issue.

Face reality. The EU and Russia are at a state where a solution must be found where both sides can keep their face.
it doesnt work like that you maybe ready to pay more for energy but what about factories wont that make the prices go higher which will make domestic goods lose to maybe asian products

Russia never had good relations with western Europe. Germany is jealous of Russia because Russia area = 17.1 million square kilometers whereas Germany area = 357,000 square kilometers. Plus, Germans still view Austria as an indispensable part of Germany, whose unification was unjustly deprived by the victorious Allies following the end of WW2.

Years of trying to establish good relation between western countries and Russia was nothing but putting bandage over wound, without addressing the underlying issue, and that is Russia is the world's biggest country and western countries are jealous of Russia's size. The conflict between Germany and Russia and between Russia and the US have been boiling under the surface for many years and have finally erupted this year.

Russia is the world's biggest country, even bigger than Antarctica. Russians would never be a pawn of the US government. As Chinese say, there cannot be two tigers on one mountain.

Ukraine is an independend country. If its people want join NATO who are we to denie their wish? Also your poiunts are 100% pro russian and do in no way pay tribute to our legitimate interests in the ukraine.

Ukraine is about as independent as slave. During Maiden and shortly after every western politician and their mother was either at independence square or were having meetings with opposition.

Is it a coincidence that after Joe Biden visited Kiev that Ukraine launched a military operation?

Coincidence that after the CIA director visited Ukraine, Ukraine launched another "anti terror operation"?

Coincidence Yatsunyk came to power after Victoria Nuland's leaked phone call in which she discussed him taking power?

Coincidence that the US invests 5 billon dollars in Ukraine only to have Ukraine fall under US authority?

Coincidence that the US does not spend 5 billion dollars for democracy in lets say Argentina or Somalia but instead spends that money in Ukraine, what makes Ukraine special? Perhaps because NATO keeps creeping up on Russia?

Russia should instigate protests in Austria by first providing 5 billion dollars for "democracy", from then Russia should threaten the Austrian authorities with sanctions because Austrian police are not standing down and letting violent protesters storm government buildings. Then a Bunch of Russian and maybe Chinese politicians and powerful government figures, including the head of the FSB should go to Austria to rally the violent mobs. After that those power government figures should meet with Austrian opposition leaders. When German objects to what is happening on their border and to their brotherly country, Russia along with China should slam Germany with sanctions and threaten Germany to stay out.

As ridiculous as this sound this is what the west did in Ukraine and they have the nerve to tell Russia not to interfere in Ukraine

Ukraine independent? Great joke bro.

btw, a huge chunk of the German economy is due to German goods being sold to Russia, many other EU countries are the same way. There is nothing positive about the current situation, if sectors of european countries lose business to Russia then that business can never be replaced.

The fact that most EU economies are in recession is just rubbing salt onto a wound. Many companies such as Volkswagen refuse to get involved in sanctions, many other companies and countries that have been hit with mild Russian sanctions are in deep hurt. People can make silly threads such as this one but there are many countries in Europe demanding EU compensation; similarly there are many farmers demanding EU compensation. Obviously not all is positive, unless you live in a fairytale totally disconnected to reality.

The only opinion in EU that matters is the opinion of germany, france and uk and italy to a degree. The rest has to follow. And we know that evrything has a price. And it is way to late to step back. And to be honest the best thing that could happen for economy would be a small war between russia and ukraine. War is good for business.

A small war? If Russia invades Ukraine, Ukraine would become part of Russia once again. After all, it was the Communists who created Ukraine in the first place.

Russia could never get a grip on western ukraine. Thats a good thing to export weapons and start to support evry group that is against russia. divide et impera. We are dealing with an economic dwarf here.

We have technology the russians can only dream about. GMO for example. It would be the perfect situation to use genetic, scissors, terminator genes and so on in a real situation. And if a proxy does it our hands stay clean.

small war between russia and ukraine
it'll be small all right, they'll liberate novorossiya in a just few days, give them a week and they'll take Kiev and beyond but I don't think it's happening

considering the fact they needed years of brutal war to gain chechenya i would not see it that way. The russian army is at an pathetic state. With the right equipment ukraine can handle this very well.

Russia has had good relations and bad relations with the rest of Europe, why try to make things seem like they have always been bad, for a good time the UK and Russia had very good relations also. It hasnt had great relations since communist times but why would they be. The average citizen, I imagine on both sides is just getting along day by day in their job they hate then they come home and watch tv and browse the internet, no one really has resentment as we probably all live fairly similar lives.

A big country doesn't really matter though does it, life expectancy on par with south American countries, an economy with huge natural resources and a large population yet for numerous reasons the same GDP as little old Italy. No country is "jealous" (lol) of a country so large that 99% of it is uninhabited. Germany is a merc and Russia is a lada, simple as that, if everyone in the world was given a chance to live in Bavaria or Saint Petersburg I imagine it would be a landslide to the Germans. Nothing to be jealous about when pretty much every vital statistic in comparison between western nations and Russia, Russia loses..apart from amount of soldiers which some people here get wet about.

All that needs to happen is more diversification but without several affecting either economy.

Renewables are iffy, expensive and unreliable and should not be the backbone of a continent or country that relies on strong industry.

Fusion is 30 years away, will be very difficult to rely just on renewables for a couple of decades.

Well, i think they already counted their losses in regards to Ukraine and just wanted a piece of the pie.
I'd say the recent relaxation of food sanctions is a good indicator of at least some sort of willingness to resolve the issues through.

Everybody needs to calm the **** off in Ukraine and I think that after all the bloodshed the time for reasoning is here.If not,we're all loosers...except the US.

Considering NATO was in Iraq for 8 years and in Afghanistan for 13 years and gained nothing in either wars i would not talk.

The Russian military of 1999 and the Russian military of 2014 are two totally different militaries. Newer equipment aside the average Russian soldiers probably gets more training and put through more military exercises then most NATO countries.

Ukraine is suffering appalling losses, much higher then Ukraine is admitting according to most Ukrainian soldiers. We have video after video of destroyed Ukrainian military columns, hundreds of soldiers retreated into Russia, with hundreds more taken POW or simply deserted. This is against militia with no airpower, with many soldiers 50+ years of age and many more soldiers with no prior military experience.

I would love to see those incompetent Ukrainian soldiers that are getting humiliated daily "handle" a full Russian invasion consisting of heavy armor, air power, and most importantly well trained soldiers commanded by real generals.

Ask the Georgians how well they did back in 2008 when they faced and outdated 58th army. All of their western equipment was burning on the sides of roads with western trained soldiers running with their tails in between their legs.

Even a lot of western Ukrainians speak Russian. Most people in Kiev speak Russian. Plus, Ukrainian is an eastern Slavic language, pretty much the same as Russian and very different from German. Ukrainians and Russians are brother nations. What's Germany to Ukraine? Yet another lao wai :laugh:

As for technology, Russians are at the top, certainly much better than Germany. Su-35 tramps anything in Germany's air force. Ka-52 and Mi-28 beat Eurocopter Tiger. T-90MS Tagil compares favorably with the latest Leopard 2.

As for economy, Western economy is fake. Numbers are infinite. Countries can make as much money as they want. What's important are unemployment rate, territory, natural resources per capita. And at all of these factors Russia is better than Germany.

Most countries that fight for independence have a good chance at winning. Scotland won (the first time), America won, Texas won, Kosovo won, Chechnya won (the first time), Transnistria won, South Ossetia and Abkhazia won, and New Russia will also win :agree:
