Why the Chinese consumer prefers local brands now: Bain | In The News

. . . . . .
That seems to be the standard way for Chinese to deal with competition. No wonder their products are copies and crap
My friend told me lots of indian businessmans come to yiwu buy those craps every year,he sell high quality goods to western countries but also sell craps to indians.I asked him why?he said indians are too poor to buy high quality goods,so they only want to buy the cheapest

lol..
But you or your "friend" seem to agree that Chinese do produce crap mostly, and if you need high quality look elsewhere

Being rational means being able to calculate ratios. In this case, it is the ratio between value and cost. Looking only at value or only at cost is not rational.

Actually,no,
Most of profit my friend earned coming from selling high quality goods to western countries, just because he is too greedy, don't want to give up india's market. So he keep those defective products which were abandoned by factories and sell those things to india.I told him selling defective products to indians are hurting chinese product's reputation ,he should focus on making more good quality stuff. He said, the indians cannot even make those craps by themselves ,so they have nowhere to go only to buy from here.He sounds like he is doing something very generous to indians. Then I don't know what to say.

No,Why it has to be plastic watch?so in your opinion india cannot even make those plastic watches?since I am not a businessman, I am not sure whether india can make it or not.but you ,as a proud indian, you should have more confidence in things made in india just like what modi told you

Of course the whole world buys most products made in China, including China herself.

China brands now have greater confidence thanks to more focus on quality and innovation. Besides, they also value image and brand building.

In most areas, China brand is either as good as, or better than, foreign competition.

China does still make low-end stuff for low end customers like India. But, even low end products come with a certain price and use value. Otherwise, they will not be sold. It is free market and low end production has to survive stiff competition.

Besides, most China brands have finally survived the explosive growth period (1990s, 2000s) abnormalities due, mostly, to insufficient supervision. China's largest baby formula maker now is a China brand. That's a huge improvement because, normally, developing countries will be import-dependent on such high-demand (high margin) products.

I also like the growing confidence displayed by China's automakers. Many have already become household names and I am sure China auto Inc. will soon have more than 50% domestic market share (in 2-3 years; now at 44%).
