Why Tejas Mk2 (MWF) Will Be Important

The article doesn't provide the details.

The article discuss various scenario this is one of the important scenario.

By 2024. Engine power will be most probably be 66 kn dry. Mirage 2000 does all this with even slightly lower power engine.

Combat power ratio of ideally 1:1 is important as this will also be a naval jet. Although good load potential for a bomber but it will still be under powered for a 4.5 gen jet. India needs to look at a power plant of 120KN range since this is no longer a light jet. With current figures it will not be suitable to take off from jump carriers with any weapons or a full internal fuel load.
Empty 8 ton
With internal fuel 11.5-12 ton
Full take off 17.5 ton

And these are the target weights, actual will eventually vary.

You are absolutely right. Tejas will need a higher power engine for Naval version. It will be GE 414 EPE.

You do know that in peace time stealth planes fly with radar reflectors?

Which shall be shutdown in war time?

LCA's position is pretty much assured, whether some like it or not. With all stack holders(user, developer, manufacturer(hal), industry) pretty much agreeing on the platform.

Now, even on the mark1 platform it has several firms outside the government, big and small, in it's supply chain.

Industry will finally eat off these programs. India's biggest infrastructure firms, biggest auto firms, etc. and even new bright upstarts are in defence and aero, including this program, private sector will force efficiency.

Yes.
Now we have FOC.
Why I said that because we had one worse episode of HF Marut in which Soviets were behind of that one .
Friendship agreement saved our day in 71 but it came with a heavy price ,our own military development .
Soviets lobbied for more Mig 21 and others .And framed Raj Mahindra .

Now on we dont have to worry ,development of LCA MK 1 is finished .
MK1A is mainly for AESA radar .At current status ,it is not a big deal for them.Means until 2022 and further FOC of Mk2 our assembly line will alive .
Once Mk 2 commissioned we can think a little about exports .

A big industry will form and slowly like IGMDP they will diverse to other segments like bombers , transport etc .

Latest development is that IAF will field LCA in Pak border once the second squadron arrived.

Once they tried for that to kill the LCA program .During 2007 .l,but thanks to HAL now we have FoC.

LCA is operational from now on we will have our own military jets

BVR can be spoof if avionics is perfect.
Look what Su did during LoC engagement ,
That is why they got debris of the missile
0ne or two legacy bvrs yes but two or more
latest no.

By the time this is ready I'll be retired.....

Means now 55 years old or more

Another Marut did happen. you are just
salvaging it.

Creating your own bubble palace and sits in there .That is what you are doing.

Within 1 decades ,our majority MW and LW category would Tejas and its variants .

Tejas Mk2 will carry two brahmos NG, the world's fastest cruise missile. This missile is so agile that it will not hit ant ship or ground target but it will be able to target big planes like oil tankers, awacs, choppers and planes used to carry military payload. I don't think any such missile exist in world or even in making. Imagine Tejas mk2 flies with 2 Brahmos NG for a mission to attack ground target and sees AW&C 400 km away and shoots it with same missile. It is amazing isn't it?

Yes!! Its amazing considering the fact the enemy will be holding garland of flowers:p:

No, Brahmos will garlend them with 200 kg high explosive.

But the time indians make this vedic stuff , the enemy will already make counter measures and blast it off before it even takes off!! Sheesh
