They base most of their Airforce on foreign bases (including India, USA, and Australia). That is the reason of their airforce having such an high Air Refueller vs Fighter aircraft ratio.

Yes, world did abandoned us. Our neighbours did try to conquer and threaten us but Singapore developed her defence forces at a remarkable phase. We have far better army, navy and airforce compared to our ASEAN neighbours.

What Singapore lacks is the strategic depth to sustain a war, which their neighbors have in plenty. If there's a war, ever, Singapore will be playing defensive role throughout. And if the enemy forces reaches their border, they'll loose the war.
