Because they're afraid of the plight of the Muslim people's and rather support a corrupt military which controls a little less than 40% of Egypt's economy so that way no matter whom is elected the military could flip the situation around to give themselves the ultimate say in the country. They won't lose rule this way and while the Egyptian people suffer they continue to take money for themselves. If you speak out against they'll throw you behind bars it's not civilian supported rule there in Egypt.
