They don't fear Hindus. Many Sinhalese in Sri Lanka visit Hindu temples and Buddhist temples have shrines to Hindu deities. It really isn't an issue. But what they will not accept is another Tamil Nadu in Sri Lanka.

However China - Sri Lanka ties are essential for the island. India has armed, trained and funded a terror group (LTTE) and can't be trusted. Indian investment in Sri Lanka pales in comparision to Chinese investment. India has a dog in the manger attitude; they don't want to help Sri Lanka develop, but they throw a fit when China attempts to lend a hand.

Apparently you know jack shit about Budhism and you seriously do not know the history of Buddhism in India. If islam destroyed Budhism, then why did Hinduism survive accross in Tamil Nadu and yet Budhism had to seek refuge in Sri Lanka. Geographically Muslim kingdom did not extend till the South, so logically it would have survived in Tamil Nadu but it didn't. Common sense. Muslim power stopped at the North of Tamil Nadu near Arcot, they did not extend into the whole Tamil Nadu. Nayaks controlled the majority of Tamil Nadu not Muslims. So tell me why there were no Buddhists there but only in SL?
