It will take a lot more for Pakistan to fall apart.

A country falling apart is not such a simple issue as what is currently happening in Pakistan.

Indeed, there is turmoil and the situation extraordinary and so articles will continue speculating Doomsday scenarios. But then, newspapers and journalists are prone to giving their own spin and twists to make an abnormal situation into a devastatingly Doomsday catastrophe.

I am sure the situation will normalise and those who are speculating proved how horribly wrong they were.

Unless the people stop anti government and anti national activities, it will give grist to the journalists to play the field with even more horrifying situation befalling Pakistan.

I believe Haqqani's wife was given a PPP ticket on the orders of BB despite the protestations of other senior leaders and workers. He can hardly be considered a "objective and neutral" commentator when it comes to the Pakistan military or the PPP.

This part always amuses me.

One British magazine has come out with a cover story that Pakistan is about to fall to the Taliban. This turns out to be based on a claim that “Taliban-like” groups are assuming power in parts of a mountainous enclave known as South Waziristan.
The readers might not know that the enclave covers half of one per cent of Pakistan’s territory of 803,000 square kilometres.

I think the Taliban like groups occupy less than the area of the Bronx. And the point made is that these are not "real" Taliban, just bandits trying to make a name is very true. None of them have much to do with what goes on in Afghanistan. Haji Omar I believe is the good example.

You guys need to just ignore what the papers write generally. Pak has nukes, and bashing a powerful Muslim country with nukes sells papers. It's the same with the Soviet Union that used to get a daily bashing in Western papers. I would feel quite honoured that Pakistan has become the successor of one of the greatest superpowers of all times in the eyes of some media. More bashing please!

I have adopted a policy for these kind of articals called : Who cares policy.

These articals are nothing but to to disturb Pakistan's image, which westren media is trying to do after Nuke tests, bcoz simply they cannot swallow a Muslim atomic power.
