Why Pakistan Army Ignoring the importance of Proper Next gen IFV and APC'S

Why?
It’s about 20 battalions of MIB in the two armored and two mechanized divisions.
That’s about 1200 vehicles.
It’s been in service 20 years.
You also need to add more than a dozen additional armored and independent armored brigades, each having one to two MIBs in them.

.
How many mechanised battalions does Pak army have right now ? I've heard that their mechanisation rate is higher than Indian Army

.
I don't understand why Pakistan Army Ignoring the importance of İnfantry Fighting Vehicles and armoured personal carriers and keep investing more and more in tanks when we already have them in sufficient numbers and which capability we lack it's IFV and APC

Without proper IFV and APC armour core cannot move and perform such platforms not only give flexibility of weapons integration of different types but can out flank enemies with their speeds and can give remarkable support to MBT in battlefield both against air and land enemy targets which will ensure the safety of our main battle tanks and can move our troops swiftly and risk free direct enemy firing range

Currently we have M113 based APC which are peace of tins and inside room is not comfortable and they lack proper armour package always at mercy of next gen ATGM of enemies we have few Serbian older İFV or Fahad class İFV which are very old and don't have better weapons integration

At other hand Indian army upgrading their BMP with loitering munition firing capabilities and buying new TATA Whrap For IFV roles and more are in development phases

Pak either consider Chinese VN 22 which are based on VT 4 Chassis Which we can get very cheaply and with same chassis it will give us a cheap maintenance due to similar class chassis and they are best available tracks based platforms with one of the best protected vehicle will not only enhance our capability but can work and move with VT 4 tanks and these can be used as short range Air Defence anti tank roles and anti personal roles giving out MBT much needed cover against enemies air and land based threats

From turkey Otokar Arma, Tulpar, and FNSS Pars are best suited for pak as well they bring much needed support
Pakistan is broke. That’s why.

But I admire Pakistanis for doing more with what they have:

You can innovate and use cheaper solution.

. . .
What bullet magnet ? Pretty save to handle insurgency

Here I show you the same type of truck they use when they are under heavy attack

Hahahaha my friend I don’t know about you, but insurgents like to use these things called IEDs…

That thing is literally like a hotpot, turn on the fire and wait for the contents to cook.

Better you dont lough on soldiers who do the real fight, while you are in England together with The Western civilization

So the Armoured spearheads have Talha. The rest have various iterations of M113?

Ask the generals,
How do you plan to settle your kids abroad ?
how will they get foreign nationality,
they will give you 1000 ways.

Poor family's kids can go to border on Toyota pickup truck and a good luck pat in back

While JANRAIL sits in Villa in Islamabad

As may senior members of forum have raised voice/concern many times
we don't have energy anymore to repeat

I noticed in 20 Years since 2020 we did not even construct a robust Border Wall with Afghanistan shows our inability

Turkey in short amount of time created a solid border with Syria

I accept that, we don't have "Ability" or excellence to do anything right

We need to follow the same approach the Russians have been following with their armor.

Al-Khalid-1 chassis should be adopted as a standard vehicle for multiple applications.
  • AK based IFV (Engine moved to the front), with an integrated turret (Aselsan has numerous solutions) including 30mm chain cannon, 50cal secondary weapon mounted on a remote control platform, 7x62 weapon and conformal IIR guided ATGMs. It could be similar to KmW Puma, around 40t. It may have limited troop capacity and primarily used as a tip of the spear vehicle
  • Heavy class APC with a 50c remotely operated weapon onboard based on the same chassis system. Primarily for troop carrying. It must include APS
  • A specialist assault vehicle, similar to BMP-3 Terminator to operate in urban settings and to provide support to main armor thrust. No troop carrying capacity.
  • A specialist NLOS ATGM carrier vehicle to engage enemy armor from standoff ranges
  • A specialist vehicle for HQ-17 SAMs for prividing protection to armored formations
  • Armored command node for C4I.
  • Specialist vehicle to carry Fatah series guided MRLs. Tracked vehicle has obviously advantages over a regular wheeled truck
  • Armored Recovery Vehicle
  • Armored re-supply vehicle
  • Armored battlefield ambulance
  • Heavy de-mining vehicle
  • Self Propelled 155mm catapult artillery vehicle

I can count several other applications. Point being, adopting a standard Al Khalid chassis and producing several types of different vehicles over it will not only drop the per unit cost due to economy of scale but would also help reduce lifecycle maintenance costs due to standardized spareparts, repairs and training.

Pakistan is one of those countries which will continue to face a credible mass casualty threat from land for decades to come. We should move to adopt a standardised chassis system for most future developments. The more of them we make, the cheaper they'd become.

Not to forget, if you can offer a "standard range" of armored products, it increases the export competitiveness.
