Why memeber introduction threads are blocked?

I just realized that new members introduction threads are closed. Although I have already made my introduction to the forum, but still wanted to know why its closed for others? Or is there any technical hitch?

i think a newly registered member has to make at-least 50 posts..only then he can start a new thread!!

Well let me clarify myself. I dont intend starting a new one, but I cant even reply an old ones in member introduction threads. Is it same for the rest of you or am I the only one getting spacial treatment?

I just tried it and allowed to post. I don't know why, may be your browser.

I dont know. May be mods can comment, cause to me thread locked/ closed icon is visible on all member introduction threads.
