Kind of ironic that Indonesians and Malaysians of Chinese origin speak better Mandarin Chinese than ethnic Chinese predominant Singaporeans.

Thanks to USA, now most of Chinese Indonesian doesn't know Mandarin dan their own culture as well.

Chinese Malaysians need to study in China, HK, Singapore, and Taiwan universities because Chinese school is not officially recognized by Malaysian government.

Once Chinese Malaysians graduated from High School, they will go aboard, especially Chinese countries.

Decades ago, before Mainland China is quite developed and open, their main destination is Taiwan, HK, and Singapore.

Despite Oversea Chinese are living in separated countries, but we support each other's, almost like a single community.

Taiwan used to be the center of Chinese culture worldwide, before Mainland China is opening like today, and Taiwan government (forced by USA) to seek new identity as Taiwanese (not Chinese).

It happened big twice in last century. Ethnic Chinese practicing Chinese cultures is also prohibited there. That's why China and Chinese are better to leave the savages alone, not so eager to help them develop.

Correct, just look on Indonesia vs Malaysian teams, Indonesian Chinese use Western name, Malaysian Chinese use Chinese name. Indonesian team uses Indonesian language to communicate between them, Malaysian team uses Chinese language or English.

Within Indonesian team there are 6 natives and 5 Chinese Indonesians. Within Malaysian team all are Chinese + Indian.

You are, but not Chinese Indonesian.

Most of Chinese Indonesian children are raise differently.

These children are not living in Chinese community, they go to the school that is not teaching anything Chinese (because China is a communist), unlike Chinese Malaysian.

If their parents are just recently being converted to Christianity, lucky to them, because their grandparents and some of their cousins are still following Chinese tradition.

They are still exposed with Chinese culture, tradition and home education from their grandparents and cousins.

But if their grandparents are Christians and these children never get exposed with Chinese culture and education, they are completely blank.

Not to mention that church is very anti-China and anything Chinese.

So, you can imagine what these children became.
