Why Kashmiris are becoming freedom fighters

why don't they just migrate to Pakistan occupied Kashmir??

If I was Indian I would put my pride aside and just let Pakistan have the contested land, and focus on development in other parts of India

no other country does it(leave land to enemy country).. its like the ring in LoTR.. haha.
besides its only muslims of kashmir( who are big majority) want it.. handing over kashmir will require displacement of all hindus and buddists(buddists are less in number but are majority in huge part of kashmir)... what will we get in result? peace? we already have it, we just pretend there are no nukes and if we die we will be reborn as something else... :p:

I highly doubt Pakistan will ever go to a nuclear war over Kashmir. Pakistan is not a fool to exterminate its 180 million people for just 5 million people who live in the valley, whom even Pakistan don't know where their loyalties lie. The only possibility of a nuclear war is when India blocks the water that flows into Pakistan that threatens the very existence of Pakistan.

if we are always in heightened readiness, the possibility of accidentally nuking other side, is always present. Either side can start it, not only pakistan.
I dont trust our own armed forces with the nukes.

I really don't think either Pakistani or Indian nukes are coupled with their delivery systems. So accidental nuking has remote possibility. Yes, there is always a danger that a nuke or two could fall into the hands of some terror group.

dont know about the operational details.. but hope its firmly under civilian control.. like a civilian actually tells them some passcode (not .. 'go ahead and nuke xyz place, I give you permission')...
not sure how it will work in subs that carry nuke.

the Kashmir insurgency has so far been handled with kid gloves by the Indian state and armed forces, but should the Pakistanis interfere in a big way and this problem metastasizes, the kid gloves will come off and the iron fist will crush it mercilessly.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that, and I don't think it will come to that.. just have a look at the stats, what is it, 50 odd a year? join the jihad in Kashmir, half of them are killed. They can never win against the Indian state, I think both the Pakistani establishment and the young cannon fodder jihadis on the ground are aware of this fact.

At this stage it's really kind of like the annoying little low intensity insurgency the Chinese are dealing with in Xinjiang, zero global support.. literally 0 support for this "cause" in the international arena, even the 'deeper than ocean, sweeter than honey' friends have not dared to so much as make a peep about it, nothing in the UN, nothing from the US/west, and Russia ? with this imaginary growing 'strategic' partnership with Pakistan ? ..forget about it, nothing there either.

Pakistan really ought to be trying to deradicalize the huge section of it's jihadi population by offering economic incentives and a better future for them rather than trying to cause trouble for a bigger and much more powerful neighbour.

All these decades of breeding snakes in their backyard has come to bite them so badly.. and yet they refuse to learn ?

Kashmir, Palestine, Rohingya, Syria.. sab ka theka le rakha hai, apart from the Uighurs :azn:

and how's it been working out for you ? :coffee:

So the only sane option is to resolve all issues including Kashmir through dialogues. Peace is the ultimate solution.

nobody is denying importance of dialogue ... but its not easy... if it was easy we would have resolved it long time ago.
