"seen them in action" is funny as hell. Like, has the Japanese fleet ever seen action since WW2? If not, WW2 naval tactics have as much relevance to today as Mongol horse riders. Technology changed drastically since WW2.

Yes, until this day. japan still have never been operate nor have operational tactic Fixed wing Modern Aircraft from their little aircraft carrier.

Meanwhile, China already extensively Operating Fixed wing Aircraft Operation from their Fleet Carriers since many years.

Especially, Night Time Aircraft Carrier Operation

Given the history and the relative economy size between China and Japan , China really need to continue to modernize and improve all of its forces.

The Chinese do have the Better Quality of Military Equipment than japan.

Japan navy Kongo class warships are deadly.....

Their Soryu class submarines can wreak havoc on enemy....

Their ASW capabilities are crazy lethal.... both Japan and south Korea enjoy hitech weapons access due to USA......

However Chinese Type 55 too is a scary one..... apart from this no country can withstand direct fight with China alone on its own except USA....

As per post #42 if Japan, USA, SK, France, Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and others team up together then Dragon can be caged and we will be safe....

JMSDF alone maybe not, but the good news is many major Navies in the Indo Pacific is already against China. one way or another. Building a public opinion against China should be maximized from now on. In Indonesia, the awareness has since increased since the january standoff. The US must maximize on this kind of sentiment to win key allies in the Pacific.
