Why isn't Pakistan an industrial country yet? When will it become one?

.
When did they become industrialised?

This will help you:
List of IMF ranked countries by past and projected GDP (nominal) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There's really only China, South Korea, Turkey and some Arab countries in Asia that have heavily industrialised in the past 30-40 years. The rest are still where they were 50-years ago.
In this article of newly industrialized countries, Mexico,Brazil,India and south east Asian countries are all there, not us

Various reasons and the most major ones are listed below:

1/ Pakistan is a multi-ethnic state - the state has to spend large amounts of energy to ensure the various ethnicities are kept happy and do not try to break away from the Pakistani state.

2/ Due to the dispute with India, Pakistan has spent more than any other country on the subcontinent on defence as a share of GDP and so less available for economic development

3/ A vast chunk of the population has a tribal mentality and so not easy to run a modern state.

Industrîes run on electricity.

Pakistan's total installed electric power is around 24 GW while China's installed Solar Power output alone stands at 33 GW.

Pakistan need to have at least 300 GW of installed electric powe to become an industrialised nation and I don't see that happening any time soon.

If you have money, invest in power generation in Pakistan otherwise your grandchildren will be wondering and day dreaming when they're your age.

India produced 268 GW of power and add more than 6500 MW from Feb to Mar, 2015.

The problem for pakistan is security situation, lack of big corporates, not enough power production, govt policies, people mindset, lack of foreign investment etc....

What a dumb list. Maybe you can explain why Bangladesh continues to lag behind Pakistan for the past 44-years since its creation even though it doesn't face any of the concerns from your list.

Pakistan's Nominal GDP 2014: $250 billion
Bangladesh's Nominal GDP 2014: $186 billion

Pakistan independence granted in 1947.
BD independence granted in 1971 - the main reason for independence from Pakistan was the systematic looting by Pakistan of BD resources to benefit it.

That 24 year difference(and also greater Pakistan population) explains the difference. Dont get butt-hurt if someone is willing to tell the truth.

So far the best response. but

1. India is much more multi-ethnic, so is China and Indonesia, and Turkey has had separatist movements of it's own.

2.Iran also spends a lot on it's military but is industrial.

3.Tribalism is common all over the subcontinent and middle east/north africa, yet that hasn't stop them from going industrial.

.
Currently Pakistan is ranked as a semi-industrial country progress is being made towards industrialization. However, Government needs to play a vital role in this by implementing economic policies that are conducive to industrialization.

China is 90% Han. Han dominates the other ethnicities completely

Indonesia and Turkey also have big majorities for majority ethnic group - Pakistan has roughly 50% Punjabis and so not possible for Punjabis to dominate the rest of the ethnicities,

India is mess after 68 years of independence so not a surprise that it has no dominant ethnicity.

Iran has massive energy(oil + gas) resources.

BD has virtually no tribal mentality - the idea of Bangladesh counts for everything in BD and tribes like in Arab world or Pakistan do not even exist.

Why can't they just go to Corporate HQs around the world and ask them to invest in Pakistan?Isn't it that simple?

.
Even though bangladesh produced more than 10 GW of electricity and economy is small compared to pakistan still they export little bit higher than pakistani figures.Bangladesh take advantage of textile export.

No country goes industrial without power., something that we have a serious lack of.
