Why is there a statue of Ranjit Singh in Lahore?

You can't and won't understand this because your just a d*ck with no brain. If you had a brain you would know this was done with a eye on politics intended to curry favour with Sikhs in India. That statue is just one little help in the effort to push the Khalistan project into reality. That frankly is worth a few dumb Lahori's being offended.

Statues should never be destroyed, if the statue is of a person who the normal public dislikes, then the statue should be removed and moved into a museum. It still is art.
As for the statue of Columbus, who told you that the EU or US "Government" is actively removing it? The matter is under consideration and the general public wants it taken down. Again, if the public isn't happy with it, it should be taken down.
My problem is only with DESTROYING the statue, like the arm of Ranjit Singh's statue was destroyed, art like this should not be destroyed outright.

Now what happens when you are about 1/3 the way from the destination of the invader for thousands of years---the result you see is punjab.

When the invaders reached punjab on their way to conquer hindustan's rajas and Maharajas and the kingdom of dehli---they were at the peak of their force projection and power.

Dunno wtf you're saying. Just stay away from the Indus Valley Civilisation. It isn't yours. It's ours. Be at peace with that. Whether we're what you call "bhayyas" or something else, the IVC is ours. A little explanation with that Wikipedia link would've been helpful as to why you want me to read it. I get your point that this statue removal has happened in US and European countries as well, so what?
Besides, in those countries the vandalized statues represent something completely different.
Our case and their case is NOT the same. Removing Sikh monuments like this will have negative consequences on our nation's stances on many matters like religious tolerance, our relations with Sikhs and general extremism. The statues in US were removed after George Flyod was murdered and those statues were representing racism, why out of no where Ranjit Singh's statue was vandalized now? And why people like you have started supporting such incidences?
All of this has been preached by Mr. Rizvi, 370 and 35A were scraped and the statue was vandalized, why? What part was played by Ranjit Singh's statue in what India did?

For me, this statue was made by a local artist and is ART, ART SHOULD NOT BE DESTROYED.

Well---look at the history of punjab---one invader after the other coming thru---.

The invaders have built up strength to conquer Dehli sultanate---.

Punjab is an OUTPOST---getting smashed by each invader---war war war & war---.

What that has created is a defensive mindset of the punjabis---. They have been busy protecting their soil from the invaders---.

The objection around Ranjit Singh's crimes is hypocritical. Muslim conquerors killed as many if not more Punjabis but are venerated.
