I don't understand why PMIK and establishment is allowing PTM to continue their propaganda and poison obviously backwards pashtuns especially youngsters.

We saw how effective army is against Khadim Rizvi. He and all of his supporters were disappeared for months and nothing happened. Nobody even cared. Khadim Rizvi had far more votes and position in parliament but still, just one comment against army chief and bam.

Why doesn't army just put a bullet in PTM and every one of their supporters or anyone who dares to support or chant anti army slogans?

Their movement is being hijacked by talibans and the way army is currently handling this, there's danger of them rising again in guise of PTM.

If their support base gets bigger then it would be again a mess to clean up and innocent pashtun blood will be spilled as casualties because ptm will take them aa human shield.

The recent attack on army airbase is an example.

I just don't know why army is giving them so much leniency. Just put a bullet in these Afghanis or if you can't do that then exile them to Afghanistan.

Pakistan army needs to fight battles with India especially now that India is run by a terrorist and he will try to get inside Pakistan once again.

Come on, Pakistan army i believe in you. Bomb these terrorists and all of their supporters and rid us of this once and for all. I saw someone comment saying Azad Pashtunistan zindabad so they obviously want to divide Pakistan. Kill them all.

Pakistan army zindabad :pakistan:

They got political support. Maryam nawaz mourns on death of PTM activists while she even didn't say single word about injured soldiers. Bilawal also said PTM as peaceful party and they can't attack army.
Action will remain meanless without political support. Army need political support.

Who cares about PML-N and PPP. PTI has the support of public.

If we listened to what opposition says then why is there a government. Let the opposition run the government.

PTM is playing the Ethnic card, it has to be dealt with extreme cautious and force at the same time , if we use reckless force than India and Afghanistan will use it to rally the Pashtoon against the Army , and it will give them more public sympathy .. I like how Army is dealing with PTM, on one side they are arresting the leadership and starting their actions but on the other side they also say that most of the PTM workers are not bad people . PTM is a snake , and it will bite us if we are not careful .

@Boyka is at least partially right.

@DeadSparrow, if you recall, TLP (Khadim Rizvi & Co) were only dealt with after they had repeatedly taken the law into their own hands and caused massive public disruption and destruction. For many, it was sending the wrong message: anyone with a few thousand supporters can take the State hostage.

I have a huge amount of respect for the sacrifices of our Armed Forces, intel agencies and LEAs --- but that doesn't mean I'm a blind fanboy / apologist like many on this forum.

The fact is that GHQ, where all security policy should be and (mostly) is made and implemented, has ALWAYS failed on a strategic level when it comes to such movements. MQM held our commercial hub hostage for years. TTP started as a small ragtag group. TLP was just a firebrand bastard who they took too long to neutralize. PTM has now morphed from an obscure movement to a relatively popular one, with the sympathies of the countries liberals, the West and of course many Pashtuns who may feel neglected or wronged by the State. Of course PTM hijacked these emotions to create an anti-State hydra that will now be more difficult to control VS. if it was nipped in the bud two years ago. The apologists will claim that the Army then did finally control these elements and many brave sons laid down their lives; I totally agree --- but why did they have to do that? These are tactical and operational successes within a framework of strategic failure.

But the geniuses in the Army, where the intellectual quality and general worldly exposure of the officer rank has been steadily decreasing since the days of my grandfather, don't have the audacity and strength of will/vision to take hard measures immediately when such things prop up. Later, when they reach fever pitch, they have to expend 10x more resources in blood and treasure to control it. Young officers and jawans often pay the price of this inexcusable lack of testicular fortitude at the top.

But --- now is the time. PTM should be crushed forever and, most importantly, Pashtuns from FATA and elsewhere should be deployed to share the other side of the story; of the CT ops and the rebuilding effort. This latter half of the equation should have been happening for years now but I don't see any mass counter-narrative to PTM. Pathetic.

@DeadSparrow It was not easy to deal with TLP.

Government cannot just ban a political party you have to go to court of law and prove allegations.

PTM is clean unless proven guilty by law.

the main cause why local people of fata support ptm is poverty and failure of govt to rehabilitate those poor public of waziristan and tribal areas who sacrified their homes and relatives in military operations.Due to high inflation and bad economy and ignorance of govt towards Idps this is happening and ptm is exploiting people sufferings to fulfill foreign agenda as local public are not happy with govt attitude

If we are not satisfied with govt weather we should become separatist or terrorist or start attacking army PTM has given much of space even IK withdrew his candidate against PTM candidates but it has proved PTM do not deserve it because now it is proved by RAW funding that they are on INDIAN agenda and now after attacking Army they are our enemy should be dealt like enemy
