Why is Pakistan producing amateur cricketers?

I don't understand. What has happened to standards of cricket in Pakistan after 2000?

This current group of youngsters are not finished product. They all have technical issues.

Even more established youngsters like Umar Akmal and Shehzad are inconsistent and more often a disaster.

The batsmen have no back foot game and the bowlers bowl too short. Players are generally unfit. Irfan can't last more than 5 overs.

Why can't they use their brain and understand you have to play differently on pitches which are outside of sub continent.

Is it really that difficult to adapt to back foot shots and bowling fuller? Or is standard of player so low they lack intelligence or ability?

Junaid Khan bowls gun barrel straight and he is most promising youngster pacer.

Harris Sohail is newest youngster batsman and he sometimes is flat footed. Shehzad with his 65 SR innings is a game losing night watchman.

We have talent, but due to the corrupt PCB they rather take bribes and sideline real talent

Quality of already existing senior players in the team affects the grooming of the youngsters joining. And another factor may be coaching tips tend to mess with nature style and talent of the batsmen somehow. Also our players seem to lose all humility and become show offs in no time. My 2 cents.

Lack of international tournaments and local league competition is also contributing to the low quality talent. PCB is not doing enough to promote talent all over Pakistan.

This is the key . I am not sure how many Pakistanis realise the kind of damage the attack on the SL cricket team has done for Pak cricket.

I see everyone here blaming the board etc but there is no substitute for exposure , how many players can a board send abroad to play ? When the options are limited nepotism is bound to creep in. The options increase when matches are played at home & these need not be international ones .

Despite all its failings IPL has helped create a pool of players. Even if these players do not make it to the national side they get enough money from the teams they play for.

The same establishments and infras exists that has produced the best in the past.

As from what i follow, Pakistan has a very vibrant domestic section in all forms and of all age groups and tournaments are plenty to spot a good talent and talents are also discovered from there.

I think the sentence
"O g we have the most talented cricketers in the world"
Should be banned
This is clearly not the case anymore
Pakistan has to realize that whatever the reasons tge supply line isn't of the same quality anymore
The remedy would be encouraging school cricket plus giving more financial security to your average first class cricketer
I would also reduce the number of teams in the domestic structure as it is bringing down the overall quality of cricket

we don't have honest people in PCB that is why the real talent is not promoted......

Pakistan is not producing Armature Cricketers..Pakistan is producing in-disciplined cricketers.

I have been following Pakistani News Channels and their Cricketing panels... everybody has some concern... that players are not fit enough...they don't practice enough...they don't apply themselves in the field enough.... it all boils down to a simple problem... there is no discipline in the team.

We have alot of talent but PCB is corrupt.Even today we have players like Shoiab malik,Abdul razzaq,Fawad Alam.

Anyway i have given up any sort of hope from Pakistani cricket team until and unless Najam sethi and nawaz sharif are given control of Pakistani cricket team
