What's new

Why is Modi making a show?

Jinnah was a Gujju too.

I count him as part of that generation of Gandhi ofc (since we are talking about period after it). Though Jamshedji Tata preceded even that I guess....but I hold all his descendants in high esteem too.

So all around, Gujjus are responsible for everything

Gandhi*

and patently untrue. There have been some excellent Gujaratis held in highest esteem after our Bapu.

Vikram Sarabhai and the Tata family comes to mind first for me

Sentimental and appealing choices for one who has worked with the house of Tatas for over ten years, and helped to send up one of Sarabhai's Satellite Launch Vehicles; I can see where you are coming from, and sense that you have a background that touches upon their heritages as well, but these are the more salubrious Gujaratis. No doubt Anil the A is not to be counted among them. But what about others?

Pols?

Morarjibhai Ranchhodbhai Desai spring to mind but perhaps not your first choice?

Rather than risk your wrath and displeasure at dissing Gujju bhais, this will be my last submission.

aryadravid and Joe agreeing on something.

Wonders never cease :cheesy:

Purely statistical chance; I am sure he is also writhing in his corner, wherever on earth it is.

So all around, Gujjus are responsible for everything

Kutchhis; somehow they get to the heart of the situation, wherever you put them.

There is more "salubrious" for every state/community in general heh.

Then there's the average stereotype of the Patel in this side of pond and other side of pond...and gujju more broadly for India. I have such friends and passing acquaintances that fit lot of the stereotypes in various ways.

Then theres the nasty riff raff mobs at the "bottom quality tier" that everyone (civil+sane) has to hem in best they can....or give up and let burst out with lot of ensuing unpleasantness to all.

I give every group in world a pass on that (as much as possible), everyones got some number and selection and particular variety of them fouling up the names, credit and deeds others of their lot earn.

Desai is not among the top tier ones imo...nope...maybe middle tier imo. My dad is far more fonder of him (and it has to do with politics of that time period I need not bring up with you seeing how you lived through it), he is willing to look past nearly all his faults...but not me. There are some glaringly bad things he did...though I appreciate other things too.

Please diss away at all (indian groups) as you see fit Joe, you have earned it. Not that I need to tell you this.

Apparently he is a homie "Deep down" of chennai-dude. I never would have thought that either.

Modi does not want to feel humilated after 1 million 10 lakh Indians kicked out of world countries.

Couldn't help taking a cheeky pot-shot; it's rare you show up in a serious mood.

Javed Miandad and Abdul Sattar Edhi are/were Gujjus too.

Score's equal after that pair.
