Russian equipment like Mi-17, MI-35, MIG-29, SU-30 etc will be fine and safe.

The main risk is that non Russian equipment being used by India could get shot. These include US P8I, Predator Drones,C-130J, C-17, Israeli Drones, Phalcons, French M2K, Jaguars, Rafales, etc.

Times change. SU-30 was great 2 decades ago and Rafale a great decade ago. The age of S-400 will come to an end by the time India inducts them in the next 5 yers. Modi delayed this deal by at least 4 years. S-400 is almost dead on arrival. Hopefully he won't delay in getting S-500.

India feels strong on imported equipment, well they have been importing "state of the art" defense equipment for last 70 years and everytime they get a new delivery they pump their chest and say now we are undefeatable. S400 is a real threat dont take it as a joke.
Dont compare Aremnia with India due to geographic and military size. S400 will work along with multiple layers of AD including short mwd and long range... in event of war, s400 can take out any paf fighter within 100km from border while being 1-200 km away.
Dont forget, turkey chose these over F35.
