Elections 2013 are the toughest elections ever in our 65 years of history. Everyone should be prepared for a surprise. But one thing is for sure, doesn't matter whether Nawaz Sharif or Imran Khan comes into power, our bilateral relations with India will definitely improve significantly. At the moment Pakistan cannot afford to have tensions on its Eastern border, and both leaders know that very well. May be i am wrong, but both leaders have got very very careful attitude, towards reducing tensions, towards solving issues. So what i am looking is the half glass full.

How can a man giving party tickets to extremist can be consider a Leader? Nawaz Sharif gets most of his support from all banned terrorist parties including TTP and you think this man can bring peace or better relations with India?

TTP?? Well that's a debatable issue. But what i know is that when Vajpai came to meet Nawaz Sharif to sign Lahore resolution. It was a strong hope at that time that tensions shall be reduced significantly.

no.its perhaps because its during his reign relations btwn both the countries improved.and a solution for kashmir was nearly made possible.imran khan is a good man but he has no experience.and i seriously doubt that he sweeps the polls clean..at the most he may become the leader of opposition.but lets wait till the elections..in the previous IK'S interviews in india he seemed to have similar views regarding kasmir but as i said u need strength to implement them i dnt know how many party men can he trust of the majority he gets if he forms the govt.and as i said india pakistan is a complex issue and an experienced person may do it better..
but keeping the aurgment aside for a while how could u say that we want him in power just be caused our media interviewed him.??even it interviewed IK..if thats the logic

I would have loved to see Imran Khan in power but it seems he may lose. Also I did'nt like his pandering to TTP extremists and his lack of courage to stand up for Ahmedi muslims.

There are quite a few reasons but one absolute reason is his lack of nationalism and inability to handle national security issues properly, indians see a good chance to poke Pakistan army with the help of incompetent Nawaz Sharif. If Imran Khan or anyone else would come to power the indian dream could be shattered and that is the main reason why Nawaz Sharif has been included in the good book of indians.

that is possible..look at this vedio.its the latest..he says he'll probe kargil and other things done..why would he say that for the sake of indian audience..IK also in the previous interviews in india said that hell totally control army and isi but i doubt he really can with his experience..at most what he can do is go with them along..atleast for the time being.so i think nawaz is a safe bet against iK as far as bilateral relations are concerned..relations improved significantly during his reign,,

The only thing i recall is that before the sharif brothers came to power lahore was a 5hithole.........i went back during and after the sharif brothers term and i must admit they did a good job on lahore......nice roads-nice buildings-clean ect

As far as I know, Indians don't have any wish of Nawaz coming to power(at least common ones)

Even if he is incompetent, the civilian leaders always have realtively less power in Pakistan, so he coming to power won't be a game changer

Nawaz always wanted absolute power and thats wht written in the article as well, he wants his hold on ISI and army though i personally believe that all institutions shud work together with mutual understanding and i believe Imran can do that.

Its just one part of lahore not entire lahore plus the entire punjab province have suffered a great deal in his last term.
