Bangla spoken by Bengalis is not consistent and varies region to region... formal Bangla that's spoken in news channels are pabna dialect if I remember correctly. @Bilal9 can correct me as I remember him talking about this and west Bengali Bangla is pure cringe... except for people from Murshidabad. as forbearing linguistic torch or legacy... Nazrul Islam and Tagore both practiced formal dialect that's spoken in Bangladesh. as for Bengalis who think they're one of you... what makes you think that's the norm? most Bengalis are well aware of their identity and are proud of it... we certainly don't need to identify with people who used to be our cooks and maids...
