The distance from mainland China to Maldive is 6000km. China does not have any petrodollar arrangement to protect shipping lines. Also, India is not hostile to China and has agreed to secure its oil route in IOR. China does not need a port in Maldives by risking it soldiers lives

Bangladesh was also threatened with Pakistan like border with regular shelling and artillery if Bangladesh does not behave. Hasina is not any friendly but just reasonable. She wants Bangladesh to build its economy and hence agreed to keep quiet for now. Pakistan on the other hand does not have any economy or manufacturing & continues to squander opportunity. We don't forget that Bangladesh was also pakistan once.

Whatever your beef is with Bangladesh or lack of it, ensure you keep your ingress in Bangladesh intact because it your under belly. With Pakistan butchering and humiliating your soldiers on western front, last thing you will need is Bangladesh slipping out of your hand.

India currently occupies South Tibet which India calls Arunachal Pradesh. This was demarcated by the British Empire but China never agreed to it. Dalai Lama would eventually pass but this territorial issue is likely to stay for much longer.

China is engaging in massive dam projects upstream of Brahmaputra River. In the case of India pursuing a path that is harmful to China but short of war, water will be a tool. The dams can exacerbate wet and dry seasons. Eventually the water can be totally diverted to Northern and Western China under the Red Flag River project.

The water of Brahmaputra before entering India is minimal. It is the water from himalayas that make Brahmaputra water levels surge. So, China can't tap Brahmaputra waters from its side.

Abut South Tibet, as I said, the boundary with India and China is by Himalayas, not made up artificially. So, there is nothing one can do about it. WHat part lies the other side of Himalayas is Chinese and what lies this side is Indian. Only some part in between is under contention for boundary line. But all of them are useless hilly land.
