WHY I REFUSED TO HEAD #LETTERGATE COMMISSION: Lt. Gen. (r) Tariq Khan

. . .
I think the Gen has valid points. He withdrew as the commission results will be welcomed by the winning party and condemened by the other. Also, the short life of comission with no results means givinga legitimacy to PDM that we let commission formation but even it couldn't prove anything.

.
Please pay emphasis to the part about what the concerned army officials told Gen Tarique:

"At about 1600 hours, I engaged the relevant office (not to be seen as the COAS’s secretariat as most would like to believe) and this was purely out of common courtesy, institutional respect, tradition and professional decorum. In turn, I was told to do as I please but to be careful of the consequences of getting politicized when I would conclude my investigation. One way or the other, the Army would be blamed by one side or the other only because I was the head of the Commission. Also, having not yet, been given any clarity on my position if the government was removed, I decided to pass on my regrets to the government in that I was unable to undertake the task at hand under the given circumstances and I communicated my position to the Government and the Media by 1800 Hours on the same day."

Had the Army wanted to hide something, they would have told Gen Tarique not to bother.

While he can make up a hundred stories, but now nation very well knows how brave these guys are.
Pak generals have a tendency to bow down on a single call. He is no exception.

Listen, any which way the Army picked, it was going to look bad. Let's just realize the reality of Pakistan today.

The opposition, by hook or crook, beat PMIK with the NCV. They passed the vote with 174 people without anyone from the PTI lota gang voting with them. PTI should have played that better.

Their petition on foreign collusion is still sitting with the CJP and his bench. Why are you all not asking why the courts did not move on it faster and open their doors at midnight? Why was the opposition's petition entertained and not that of the PTI's?

Some critique of the army is fine but people are going overboard. The SCP validated the opposition's stance, not the army.

. . . .
America. Like how and why?
Trend.. like every other guy in Gurat is in EU (italy, Spain, etc)
Then juniors follow senior lifestyle.
Lastly, colonial legacy. Our politicians and Gen as far back as 50s, preferred going to west (UK then and now USA).
