Why Hindi-Urdu is One Language and Arabic is Several

Shudh Hindi is what Atal Vajpayee speaks in. The links you sent do not speak the same language. This is Shudh Hindi, & I don't understand most of it because it is an artificial, manufactured language. Most Indians don't understand this either:

You are wrong as in many other places!

You still don't decide what we do in India. You are a Paksitani.

I respect your partly Indian roots. That doesn't change your nationality and the fact that you enjoy the misery of people where your mother comes from.

I have no respect for that mentality!

I don't enjoy the misery of people where my mother comes from, I love all my Indian first cousins. I think looking back, both Pakistan & India has suffered post 1947. I wish we can have open border, I wish I could see what life was like in Khujwa village in Bihar where my family is from, where we used to remember the first 10 days of Muharram with such fervor in the last few hundred years. All our land in Khujwa was forcefully taken from my family by Hindu mobs, & my family was forced to leave for Patna in 1947. When mom's brother had a business in Patna, but he was forced to live in Delhi after the conditions in Patna had deteriorated significantly. I have a deep respect & love for India. My family comes from a very modest background in India, so we think like the common man. I have deep respect & admiration for India's diversity & history. Which is why it saddens me that UP, which was once the cradle for Indian Muslims, has become nothing but a ghetto. I know exactly what I'm saying. Yes, Delhi & Hyderabad have been successes for Muslims, but most of the Indian Muslims are still deprived & underrepresented. So, don't accuse me of not knowing what I'm talking about.

It's not mandatory to sing Bande Matarom for Indians, it's not even mandatory to sing Jana Gana Mana for Indians.

I never said it was mandatory, I said it was enforced by certain schools in India, more specifically in UP. There is a big difference between the two. Which is what caused the fatwa by the Dar Uloom Deoband in Deoband, UP; asking Muslim parents to ask their children not to sing it. It generated a huge controversy in India. I have family in Amroha, UP; so I know first hand of this issue.

like other languages, union government wholeheartedly promotes Urdu too. We've Urdu channels too.

See:
National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language

Muslims(not all) even in South India also speaks a varient of Urdu called Dakhni. Urdu is still very much alive although Union government's love for spreading Hindi as national language has a bad effect on Urdu, like many other Indian languages. it is not like central government wants to specifically destroy Urdu.

Let's not change the subject.

I don't appreciate Pakistanis commenting on Indian Muslims or any Indians. You have no right.

PS: I am saddened by what happened to your family during partition. It was a terrible time.

You have no right trolling on Pakistani minorities or any Pakistanis, yet you keep trolling & trolling. In fact, why are you on a Pakistani Defence Forum? Maybe you should going to an Indian Defence Forum, instead of trolling here talking about Pakistan in every way. You probably don't even have any family in Pakistan, you've probably not even met a Pakistani in real life, yet you feel you have the right to comment on issues that concern Pakistan only.

Then why did it want to cleanse the Hindustani (aka Urdu), & form a new artificial language such as Shudh Hindi or Hindi in 1947?

It can't be enforced by any school, instead of issuing fatwa those guys should have gone to court just as a syrian christian in Kerala did.

Remember, I still have respect for India, its huge diversity & its rich history. I just don't have any respect for jingoistic Indians that don't show respect for Pakistan, which was an important part of the Indian subcontinent too.

I don't comment on Pakistani domestic issues for the most part. Only when it has an implication for India. Like the terrorists from Pakistan, the Taliban etc.

You don't decide which forums I am on.

I don't have a family in Pakistan but know enough people first hand who lost their all during partition. Families, lives, property, honor and more.

Of course, the school didn't expel those kids for not singing the Vande Mataram, but there was a lot of added pressure & spotlight on them. It generated a lot of controversy in UP, especially with the verdict that the Dar Uloom Deoband gave for Muslims.

That has a lot to do with the terror that has been perpetrated from Pakistan on India. You can't do 26/11 and expect respect.

We can be friends. It just needs stopping irredentist ambitions on Indian land and people, accepting current borders and stopping the flow of terror.

Also it will be even better if you stopped that hatred in your textbooks!

And neither do you in my case.

I don't have a family in Pakistan but know enough people first hand who lost their all during partition. Families, lives, property, honor and more.

Tell me specific stories, of specific locations and timelines of people prior to 1947 that you personally know, I'm pretty sure you know nothing about it. You will just be sprouting mindless propaganda that you listen on Indian TV.

That is because many Indians hold that song very dearly, not because Bankim wrote it keeping Durga in mind, but as it played a crucial role in our independence struggle.

You can't demand respect when you break away the Eastern half of Pakistan from it. You can't expect respect by forcefully occupying Kashmir/disputed territory, & killing & raping every civilian with your 700,000 troops stationed there. You cannot demand respect when you aid the BLA/BLF in Balochistan from Afghanistan, or aiding terrorists in Pakistan's FATA region that cause havoc all over Pakistan. Respect is earned my friend, not demanded. Let's not discuss this topic because the topic is being diverted. You clearly don't have any response to the deliberate degradation of Urdu by the Indian government in terms of 'Shudh Hindi.'
