What's new

Why Hasina ministers talking hodgepodge?

Agreed.
Cant really see any good alternative to Hasina in the forseeable future.
Yes , but still current govt should be under pressure! And that's why oppositions are on street!

I don't think they are for the fall of Hasina regime ( as already they are tamed , but definitely grassroot BAL goons don't know it) , but to show down only! But it will make govt goons afraid!

Grassroot BAL people are reckless, ministers are acting as clowns of circus , and that's why I suggest a presidential form of government , where Hasina can be president , so she doesn't have to rely on political goons!

However if she can continue a president though , she is already 78 years old!

That is the point.

They might become unstable if economic situation worsens.

I don't wish for it of course, but their fiscal mgmt. (despite propaganda to the contrary) is going through some difficult moments.

Bro,

Every single country is facing a fiscal crisis.

Britain has breached 100% debt to GDP ratio.

Average home will have to pay out £6000 pounds a year for Gas and electricity.

Britain is facing a decade long depression according to the Bank of England.

.
It will be bad news for bdesh. As there not a lot any bdeshi gov can do with this recession and inflation of fuel prices.

Bdeshi needs goods consistency of governance and hasina is doing that

Not that I am WISHING for Hasina govt. to fall.

But the indicators do not look good.

If you surround yourself with completely uneducated and unqualified yes-men and sycophants, they will only do sycophancy for looting purposes and are incapable of discharging the affairs for which they were hired for. This is Modi formula...

That is how it looks to me for now.

The last thing I want is to be the political situation in Bangladesh (however one party it is) to become unstable....

@BananaRepublicUK

We have too many Mir Jafars - who will sell their soul to hostile foreign powers.

Sadly, if our PDF bros here are to be believed, we have just seen that on the Western side

Too many egos.

The main difference between eastern and western political culture can be cooked down to the level of surrender of ones ego for the good of the community; ie adherence to the law.

Westerners surrender to the law. Easterners surrender to the strongest individual.

Is it just me or anyone else think hasina is the main problem of AL right now. To me she just likes flattery...
And the reason AL has succeeded in terms of economy is because they have been in power for 10+ years, where they got good opportunities to implement their policies properly. If it was like india or pakistan where new govt comes every 4 years screwing the work of the previous govt, Bangladesh wouldn't be in this position.
I think Hasina is an asset for BAL.... after her there is no clear line of succession and BAL will likely implode....

Like her or not and I don't, she is pretty much keeping this BAL government intact by sheer force of her personality. Everyone knows there is no democratic legitimacy to this government, but Hasina has been an effective leader and economic gains are there for all to see. Hasina gets a pass because she is clearly the most competent leader we ever had.

Very well put!

Maybe tell India and Pakistan to not change governments so frequently 🤣🤣🤣

Hence we want Hasina for another decade to get even more benefits from stability 🤣

There is no Bangladesh Awami League without Sheikh Hasina, make no mistake, SHW is the one running the government from top to bottom (you have to when civil servants and ministers are inept), she is effectively micromanaging the country, Awami League is merely a tool.

What little development has taken place in Bangladesh is by the courtesy of SHW, she has made it all possible, Inspite of the illiterate and inept ministers and bureaucrats.

Awami League is nothing without the Sheikh Family.

People will remember this era fondly in the future, as the time of Sheikh Hasina (unless you're the bitter Japanese shoe shiner type) and not as the time when BAL stuck around to power for over a dozen years.

Lest you forget that the government "falling" will be followed by a bunch of other incidents in which no doubt hundreds, If not more will die, the economy may crash and external lenders, investors and development partners will pull out their funds, people will starve, specially the lower classes... and we haven't even gotten to the N number of other issues that will no doubt compound the situation and make it even worse.

Everyone living in Bangladesh will suffer when the government "falls" and the incoming government or authority will be even worse.

It is in the best interest of Bangladesh that the current government stays in power or the power is peacefully transferred to a party that actually cares about the country and it's people (of which there are none as of this moment).

It's funny that the shoe shiner sitting in hentai nippon gets his information from a YouTube channel; perfectly demonstrating his intellectual capacity or lack thereof. The prat contributes absolute zilch to BD but is the first to Bitch.. If the word clown ever needed an ambassador.

True words.

Hasina must continue one more term.
All other alternatives look bleek atm, to say it mildly.

One can hope and pray Hasina somehow will manage to draw a rabbit out from the hat in her final tenure. If she manges to transform BAL into a technocratic party system like Singapore and China, there will be generations of bengalis singing legendary songs about her.

In the old old days there were hymns on Mahipala sung by farmers all over bengal.

BAL is a bunch of murderous thugs. They have never evolved from street politics. They are incapable of it. Only an idiot thinks BAL can be reformed.

BNP is not a street politics party. It could have been the default party of BD - if it wasn’t headed by Tariq Chora and his illiterate whore of a mother.

Hasina is like antibiotics and BAL is her poisonous side affects!

Once Hasina is no more - common people must gang up and beat the crap out of local BAL leaders. Similar to the French Revolution.

If Hasina can stay in power for one more term and so up to 2029, then all the gains will in essence be "baked in" and whoever takes over will have to follow sensible policies as otherwise too many people will lose what they have and they will not be able to hold power for too long.

Once a country reaches a certain level then the government is not as important in the running of the country - a "middle income" BD could probably still progress with a semi-bad goverment but not certainly a "low income" one.

Think about what BD will probably look like in 2029 - loads of modern infrastructure all over the place, plenty of jobs in the SEZs, more developed industries in sectors like IT, pharma and electronics and a better educated population. It is not possible for anyone apart from an absolute dictator to reverse the momentum that BD economy will be on by then.

We just need to cross the rubicon with Hasina.

If she is toppled I don’t hold any hope for BD this century.

Any “technocrat” or military dictator will be totally reliant on US support.

Which means GOODBYE to high rates of export led growth.

Actually today or tomorrow Hasina will retire , because no one lives or remain healthy forever! And then BAL will be abolished!

It won't even perform well under the rule of any other from sheikh Family , let's say Rehana!

As long as Hasina is alive , BAL has some ground! After her , BAL will be doomed!

You see BNP is already dead and tamed by establishment?

Although they can launch massive protest , because still their supporters believe that Tareq Chora is leading the party!

Although BAL isn't a family based party in the beginning!

After after abolition if BAKSAL , the new BAL became a family centric party as well!

So without Hasina BAL is nothing!

Brother, why do you think that Hasina is elected head of govt? Remember 2014 & 2018 election?

It was no election at all , but selection!

Military is already backing the regime from the behind, otherwise it wouldn't survive one month , same as the 15 February 1996 election!

So technically it's a military backed Govt!

Still not totally reliant on USA and west!

However what's the idea if there is a national unity govt with Hasina as head of it?

There are such proposal too! I think everyone will be happy then!

Hasina will resign as BAL leader and the the head of govt as technocrat!

( In this way we still have Hasina as head of state ,and as a technocrat she can do better , because she doesn't have to appease party goons ; it will work as presidential form , it even it's not officially introduced!)

I know BNP will blabber some days and accept it , since Zia family is out of politics, BNP became B team of BAL!

(Although common folks don't think so , but who cares , BNP already gave legitimacy to the govt after joining in Parliament with 6 seats)

The reality is all want to loot money in some extent ( the reality is , Bangali won't stop looting so fast , so don't expect our country literally as heaven ,it will back fire) ! So IMHO , they should take BNP and others in govt as well and give them some minister position!

They will get a good part of loot and then remain totally silent!

USA will see that since BNP ( ardently pro west with huge public support) wants the unity , so will lose the ground of selling democracy!

So in the end , sobai mile churichamari koro , Eka Khaba keno? Bhag Kore Khao , Tobe ektu roye soye Khao! Zeno chokhe na lage!
