Why Ghost Division? What did Rommel do?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh the Fox makes an exception for some heavy metal when its the proper setting :D
Lol yes, can't miss out sabaton. Though I will admit i'm not too big on mainstream genres but I will make an exception if the particular band or song ties into a historical theme. Even rap would be welcome in that case though im not sure how that would sound but if anyone can pull it off im all ears. :D

Rommel's Ghost Division became "GHOSTS" literally. Thanks to Field Marshall Montgomery. God bless the Brits they did something right for a change hahahahahaha!!!

Nice share buddy but i say read "Panzer Commander, The Memoirs of Colonel Hans von Luck" for a more closer look at how Rommel operated. A small piece from his book.

I thought only Indian generals behaved like this.

What possessed him to send unsupported infantry to make a crossing of a defended river? In the same situation some years later, it is instructive how the Allies went gingerly into action across the Rhine, with a great deal of preparation and of an attack on a broad front that could not be very well defended by the depleted, bled dry enemy.

Another point that comes out of this narrative is the fighting spirit of the poilu. They certainly didn't curl up and die. Contemporary re-telling of the operations at Dunkirk make it more than clear that without the heroic sacrifices of the French, who held out until the BEF had been evacuated, along with some French elements as well (the commanders, naturally, commanding a priority evacuation position), the entire British contingent would have been doomed. Leaving Britain without a cohesive fighting formation other than the British Indian Army, many thousands of miles away.
