I think the US isn't scared but rather trying to tangle Russia into another cold war and destroy it politically but this time around things are different and can have different consequences for the US. In other words, it might just back fire.

People need to stop thinking or wishing for a USA vs Russia war. The world will end if it happens. Even if there is a no-nuclear treaty during the war it isn't going to be followed by the nation which is losing or from outside interference. Many counties will join sides. A nuclear war WILL break out. The whole world will be a nuclear wasteland and the human race will have died or become sick and eventually die.What you should be doing is praying a war between superpowers does not happen ever.

There are no reasons to attack them... besides we destroyed their economy in the cold war. they no longer are USSR and most countries under USSR have turned to be pro US or joined NATO. we have already made them into a regional power and are the sole superpower now. we even destroyed their " communist" state

I agree with JayAtl. While Russia is still a nuclear threat they pretty much aren't a threat anywhere else.

You can also claim why doesn't China attack Russia and grab their oil. They are right next door.

Many smart people from the Soviet Bloc have left (and many have come here) It's going to take a while for them to get back to where they were.
