Because of the location. It's simple. Not only islamists but every Bdeshis should have protested against the murti of Greek goddess in front of our Supreme Court

No one protests because it is in front of a women's college. Do you want a male half naked statue there, instead?

Kathmolla have very much obsession with supreme court. They think that their ultimate mission is to replace the Taguti law with the Allah's law.So they consider supreme court as their main target and very much sensitive about anything unislamic going on there.

They actually might in the future, after the statue was removed from the court grounds they wanted to focus on the demolition of statues installed across Bangladesh. But since the statue is in a different location now they might still focus on the statue a bit more.

Wipe out all the traces of pre Islamic society. Good for Bangladesh & green cult.

Taslima Nasrin forced to abandon trip over Islamists’ protests

Bangladeshi-born author and former physician Taslima Nasrin looks on during the New Delhi Literature Festival in New Delhi on November 28, 2015 AFP
Taslima landed at the Chikalthana Airport in a flight from Mumbai. Police stopped the author from stepping out of the airport, where a crowd had gathered chanting “Taslima Go Back” slogans
Bangladeshi-born author Taslima Nasrin was sent back from the airport in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra to Mumbai after protests by a group of people against her visit to the city, the Hindu reports quoting police on Sunday.

Taslima landed at the Chikalthana Airport in a flight from Mumbai. Police stopped the author from stepping out of the airport, where a crowd had gathered chanting “Taslima Go Back” slogans.

Rahul Shrirame, a deputy commissioner of Aurangabad police, said taslima was sent back to Mumbai by the next flight to avoid any “law and order problem” in the city.

The author was advised to abandon her visit to the city and she agreed to go back, the police officer said.

Protesters had also gathered outside a hotel where Taslima was to stay during her three-day visit.

Police said they learned that the writer was planning to visit the world heritage sites of Ajanta and Ellora besides other tourist spots in Aurangabad.

The protest at the airport was led by Imtiyaz Jaleel, a leader of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader in Aurangabad.

Jaleel said her writings have “hurt” the religious sentiments of Muslims across the world. “We will not allow her to step on the soil of our city,” he said.

Last month, the Indian central government extended her visa for one year, with effect from July 23, 2017.

Nasrin, a naturalised citizen of Sweden, has been getting Indian visa on a continuous basis since 2004. The author is living in exile since she left Bangladesh in 1994 in the wake of threats to her by fundamentalist groups.
