Why does China keep supporting Burma in the Rohingya crisis?

So what? You whined so much like you are somebody?

https://www.hrw.org/news/2018/12/24/un-members-thwart-chinas-bid-gut-funds-myanmar-probe

"so China was unable to block the push by the European Union, United States, Canada, Switzerland, and Kuwait on behalf of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to end debate and approve funding for the investigation."

Even your Pakistani friends went against you at the UN as they are part of OIC.

What a lonely country you are in the world!

Some of his posts are rather strange in how he blames BD as much as Myanmar for the plight of the Rohingya.:undecided:

Is that a joke or what?

Bangladesh is still trying to throw all the Rohingya back to the "genocide" in Myanmar. That is apart from shutting down the border to prevent them escaping, and denying them basic refugee status until they go back.

If a bird is trying to escape from a burning house (genocide), and you shut the door and lock it in, or let it out and then throw it back in, how can you claim you are not responsible?

You are just as responsible as Myanmar, even more so because you did it to your fellow Bengali Muslim brothers.

Haha, dude if USA is a gigantic dinosaur, China is a tiny insect. No disrespect here. If USA stops doing anything from today, even then China will need 100 years to have the kind of influence US has all over the world.

China has a big economy. No doubt. But lol at those delusionals trying to compare China with USA haha.

China is still a developing country with a nominal GDP per capita of less than $10,000.

The fact that people are even comparing China to the lone superpower USA is unbelievable, and either shows how much they overestimate China, or how far their respect for the USA has fallen. It's almost certainly a combination of both.

yep! what does it matter if compared to China, Bangladesh is one big open sewer/swamp as long as USA is better than China.
Great bongle logic unless it is a ruse to convince the US to restore them extra handouts they used to allow for the shonardesh, then it is definitely a good idea (unless of course Trump does not read these here posts)

or is it a ruse to hide the possibility that it is Bangladesh which secretly owns the American wealth but is too humble to publicly admit it?

You can bark the way you are but you don't change anything! And you are no more than beggars that hope the world goes your way!
World conscience is with us. This is our biggest strength. Just recently UN members states thwarted a Chinese attempt to cut the funding for investigation of burmese genocide and ethnic cleansing of Rohingyas. this shows, most of the countries in the world still maintain some ethics unlike China. You itself is one of the biggest human rights violator in the world and you support the world's most notorious regimes and practice unethical business deals with other countries. With such behaviors, no matter how much powerful China become economically, militarily or technologically, it will never be able to gain trust and respect of the world much less in the neighborhoods. There will always be a powerful coalition against you in your neighborhood led by United States to frustrate your geo-political ambition.

You think a country that suffered terribly at the hands of Japanese would have stood up for victims rather than for the criminals!

it's because US has never won a war vs China when China had nuclear war threats from USSR and US. Also US has never fought any countries worth mentioning. They could have fought Iran for redemption but backed out.

If Bangladesh shut down border then how come 90 percent of Rohingyas are now in Bangladesh rather than in Arakan? Who were there just 2 years ago?

Bangladesh is trying to conduct a voluntary, safe and dignified return of Rohingyas to their ancestral land. That's why we suspended multiple times the repatriation process and asking myanmar to create suitable environment for their return. Bangladesh govt. repeatedly pledged not to send Rohingyas against their will.

Your line of argument here is, myanmar should expel all the Rohingyas as it like into Bangladesh and Bangladesh should gladly accept them and settle them permanently within Bangladesh to serve the dirty geo-political interests of myanmar and China.

China accepted hundreds of thousands of ethnic Chinese refugees from Southeast Asia in the 1980's when we were much poorer than Bangladesh on a per capita basis, not to mention the fact that we had another billion people to take care of.

And we also solved the Kokang issue, via bilateral negotiations with Myanmar. They are now recognized as Burmese citizens.

Whereas Bangladesh is doing everything they can to throw the Rohingya back into the burning house. They won't even give the Rohingya basic refugee status until they go back to Myanmar.

His posts don't make any sense, it's like claiming Europe is committing genocide in the Middle East as they shut the borders to the refugees. Or Pakistan is committing a genocide in Afghanistan by building the barrier on their border.

Bangladesh didn't even shut the borders and kept it open to all the refugees on humanitarian grounds. There is in fact a unanimous consensus in the world on the appreciation of our humanitarian efforts towards the refugees, including the govt. of China.

Not sure if it's his actual opinions or just trolling, but he's entirely an ignorant person on this topic that's for sure. As I said, even Indian trolls have matured beyond this level.

Again you are asking Bangladesh to accept Rohingyas rather than finding any problem that myanmar killed and driven away an entire ethnic group from their land. You are trying to excuse a criminal's crime and asking the victim to cope with consequence of that crime. This is the problem with your argument.

Why are you talking same non sense again and again? We are not throwing Rohingyas to the burning houses. That's why we suspended repatriation and asking myanmar to create suitable environment free from danger for returnee. Solution lies Rohingyas going back to their own home left behind and everyone who working for their welfare want the same thing. Why it should be seen a bad intention on part of Bangladesh if it want Rohingya goes back to their homeland in a secure invironment? If Bangladesh is at fault for wanting Rohingyas to go back, then what solution you propose to solve the crisis? To settle Rohingyas in China?

@Nilgiri Those twerps is an expert For turning netral and friendly party into enemies. Well we can see they even made most Chinese member against them

lol.

Why do you persist in commenting on BD affairs like it is a way to earn a living for you?

Now please tell us when a BD poster last made a comment on Indonesian forum?

Anybody can open office considering a good future prospect. Everybody does. TATA opened office as soon as they made a offer of 3 billion dollar investment back in 2004. That does not mean they won the projects. They left with no hard feelings.

TATA's was a case of private investment. Sonadia was supposed to be a g2g deal.

You are talking out of context. A Treaty is not a Treaty unless it is signed by the concerned parties. China Harbour Engineering was playing its politics at the insistence of the Chinese govt. It was not supposed to come without first getting a Contract. China is helping Burma because it needs gas from there.

What benefits BD can get by giving extra leverage to China? It is time that BD plays a strong Rohingya role in Arakan with the help of US-Japan axis, create an autonomous region there and deny China the gas fields and deep seaport. BD is weak, but the local population of any region is not weak. Another strength of Arakan is it is geographically separated from Burma by the Yommu mountains at the east.

Care to explain the politics bit? It was supposed to be a g2g deal and the Chinese govt. had selected China Harbour as the main contractor. I don't think there is any reason to think the govt. was not aware of China Harbour when its name was all over the media in their reports on Sonadia. In any case, there was no indication of any issue between the govt. and China Harbour anyway.

China obviously has an interest in Arakan, there is no denying that. But was there really a need to fulfill those interests with this genocide against the Rohingyas? Note that, the Shwe Gas field and the Kyaukphyu port have nothing to do with Rohingyas (and the operation by Tatmadaw) who are mainly concentrated in the Maungdaw District in the Northern Arakan. Even from security point of view, the main threat for the govt. in the province has always been the Arakan Army who are ethnic Rakhine Buddhists and not Rohingyas.

Do you really think Myanmar could have begun this operation without the backing of China? What I'm saying is we could have done better with our foreign policy and negotiations with China to prevent them from permitting Myanmar to conduct the operation in the place. For China this was not about 'interest' rather 'teaching a lesson'.
