And why does it do so much of arms purchase? I have read that they even have submarines? Why do they need all this? Is all that meant to fight China someday?

Why does Bangladesh maintain a military?
Because we have a great friend who has tendency to annex sovereign countries (Hyderabad and Sikkim ). They do so because they believe that the whole Asia was Akhand Bharat , so they aim to devour all Asia in their wet dreams . So the wet dream may never come true , that's why Bangladesh ( as well as other nations ) maintain a military.

Why would India pose a threat to Bangladesh? What a stupid suggestion!!

Nah, it's for Ethiopia. After all, present day Bangladesh had the ignominy of being ruled even by the Ethiopian slaves amongst countless other invaders.

Perhaps, they still seek retribution..

CHT should either be an independent country or be acceded to India if their people should choose to.

I think British gave it to East Pakistan, because they thought Indians could takeover Chittagong port by shelling heavy artillery from the peaks of CHT...I think this was that one aspect of Partition lines that left even Sardar Patel miffed...

This stupidity again!

Bengali Muslims settled the CHT way before the tribal refugees from Myanmar were given asylum in BD by us hundreds of years ago.
False, CHT enjoyed absolute autonomy teetheing on the edge of sovereignty during British times. Prior to that, the power centre varied between the Twipras and the Arakan kings.

Peoole of CHT did hoist the Indian flag post-partition.

British were definitely to be blamed for the mismanagement of CHT. They bifurcated the area into two parts, one joining with the Lushai hills inhabited by the Mizos, their archenemy and the rest attached to Bengal.

Had that not been done, and entire CHT considered as a protectorate or something within NE india, CHT today would still be with India.

CHT will ALWAYS remain as part of BD.

The 500,000 or so tribals will rapidly merge into BD society within the next 1-2 generations.

It will remain a barren and remote part of BD for eternity.

Indian wet-dreams will always remain wet-dreams.

we are talking about then...there is no way CHT will change hands now..No country wants to give up a single inch of their territory after having shed blood for it...This is something Pakistan doesnot understand..it was reasonable to give up the Valley to Pak in 1949...but not now

I sense fear in your words.

You have already alienated the people.

R@pe and murder of tribal women are common, their settlements are being razed and leaders killed by your State in sanctioned 'targetted killings'.

What is there to fear in BD?

98% ethnic Bengali Muslims and 90% ethnic Bengali Muslims to boot.

500,000 tribals make no decisions on future of BD at all which has 165 million population. They are rapidly being absorbed into mainstream BD society.

Rape, murder and targeted killings?

Talking about India no less - ha ha.
