why not call them pakistani or bngledeshi restaurants instead of taking our name?

. . . . .
by naming bharati they get lots of bharati customers who make majority of population among south asian expats.

Totally Business minded aka baniyeay,

That's not true at all. Most Indians I know will never eat at pakistani or bd restaurant. We usually check on Zomato, the restaurant site, or ask who the chief is before sitting down.

if you know then why you are asking this. you should believe in your own research. bye.

anyways the world "IND" is derived from indus valley, thats why i always use word bharati for you gangadeshi kind.

Because its called Indian food and even if you tell non asian this is Pakistani or Bangladeshi it doesnt make sense to them. All they know is that spicy curry is Indian food.
Indian posters keep saying and keep stressing without acknowledging that in West this cuisine is called Indian not Pakistani or Bangladeshi.

Nonsense thread to troll
Plenty of Latino food restaurants use name as XXX Mexican food in US, at least Texas
Plenty of restaurants with different Asian countries food named itself XXX Chinese Food restaurant as well
Just for the better convenience, popular category sake for the customers to Choose from, nothing more, nothing less

I agree 100%. Yes, early on this could be justified as a consequence of the widespread meaning of "India" as spread by British influence prior to 1947. However 70 years later this should have been remedied. Sometimes minor or even superficial can point out to fundamental malaise in society. I certainly think this applies to this as it exposes the utter failure of Pakistan state to develop a brand or identity. What has been developed is just the tag "Muslim" which of course is rootless and not a brand but a generic term.

The Banglas actually do use it more than Pakistani's - again showing the Banglas have been more successful in consolidating their identity. Pakistani on the other hand live in a perverted, rootless existance which either is based on ethnic group, clan or then jumps to ummah concept. Pakistan is lost in all this. The result is Pakistan is failed to build up any soft power. Culture, clothing, history all have been handed to India on a platter.

This is not a minor issue and is at heart of the jihadi craze and religious fundamentalism Pakistan suffers from and will continue to suffer.

Ps. As long as this is not resolved Pakistan will always be seen as a divorce settlement from India. The collateral and not a entity in itself. This is seen in how Pakistani's are averse to using the description 'Pakistani. Asian, Apna, Muslim, Desi, Indian etc are synonyms that are often used.
