Why do investors prefer start-ups in India, Pakistan over Bangladesh?

Commission is pretty good but its not 100K per sales.

A typical detached house in Vancouver will sell for 2.1 million dollars. So a sale will bring about CDN 60K between two agents (seller and buyer), split 55-45. You are looking at $ 28-32 K.

For making 100K in one sale, you will need to sell a 7-8 million dollar house, which are very hard to sell these days.

PS : I am not a realtor. I am in process of buying my first detached house in vancouver sub-urbs. About $500K downpayment, another 300K from parents (they want to live with me) and whatever rest will be there will come from mortgage.
This mmr guy just bullshits, I worked in property finance and very well know how much brokers can make every sale. Its the brokarage house that gets the percentage of the sell and then they pay their employees a small percentage of that. i looked up average broker income in Britiah Columbia and that says 80k. Thats it no 100k every sale lol

Money laundering is illegal in Canada too. Anyone knowingly participating in a commercial transaction involving shady source of money should be reporting a suspicious transaction report to FINTRAC, which is the financial intelligence unit of Canada.

Real estate brokers in particular must report any suspicious transaction to FINTRAC.

So, if you know of someone like that - they are in fact breaking the law and committing a crime.

Yes, that's the same in Australia too. If you are aware of illegal source of money, you must report it to AUSTRAC. Failure to do so will lead to losing your license as well as legal proceeding by the authority.

I bought and sold houses in Australia through agents. The commission goes between 2.5% to 5% of the total sale amount with 2.5% being most common. I have negotiated with my agent and agreed to 1.5% which is also not uncommon. For a sell price of 1 million dollars the agency gets only 15K if there is a 1.5% commission agreed. Real estate agency owners (known as principals) make better money as they sell a lot of properties and that's the profit after paying all employees and other expenses.

This guy has always been like that. With the numerous economic issues in Pakistan, some of them are gasping for air and coming up with all sorts of "what about" to post a positive picture for Pakistan. It's a coping mechanism as well as a diversionary tactic. With there being a possibility of Pakistan going Sri Lankan way of declaring bankruptcy, you better not waste your time engaging with this type.

I find it hard to believe that anyone thinks they know about the trajectory of the world's economies more than IMF, ADB, World Bank etc.

These medium term forecasts have proven to be extremely accurate in the past and unless something catastrophic happens then this is the way it will be.

Let us look at UK's CEBR prediction for 2035:

BD will have a GDP at current prices of 1.2 trillion US dollars

Pakistan will have a GDP of just 760 billion US dollars.

Remember by then Pakistan will have a population 2/3rds larger than BD but with a GDP around 2/3rds as big.

The two countries would then look totally different in terms of economic development - one solidly "middle income" and the other still 3rd world.

I have little understanding of economics and finance as I have always been a science student. However, Pakistan's situation vis-à-vis Bangladesh is not complicated to understand.

It's like a Pakistani guy with low income fancied an expensive mansion which he could not afford but took out a loan to buy it anyway. He with his low or no income only managed to pay the repayments (principal and interest) for so long until he could not anymore, so he went to another bank to borrow money to pay the interest on the home loan. That went well for a few years until he had to borrow again from a different bank to pay the repayments of the previous two loans and the cycle continued. But it can go on for so long, the guy will eventually become bankrupt as it's not sustainable.

A Bangladeshi guy on the other hand with similar income as the Pakistani guy fancied the same mansion but remained realistic and bought a shack instead which is within his means. When the Pakistani guy is on the verge of bankruptcy, the Bangladeshi guy points it out but the Pakistani guy takes offense for telling the truth and to maintain his ego he says, "What? Do you know how rich I am, look at my mansion, you live in a shack". From an outside observer it will look like the Pakistani guy is rich as he only looks at the mansion and doesn't know he is hollow from the inside.

He forgets the very mansion he bought with borrowed money caused his downfall and having and showing off that mansion is not actually a positive but a negative. He also doesn't understand someone pointing out his folly is not actually insulting him and not his enemy, he actually is the true friend.

If I were you, I would ignore this kind and engage with the more serious ones.

Well guys India is doing really well in this area.
Mainly because of it's well established IT industry, infrastructure and education in this field. Someone in their government started this IT promoting culture way before BD and Pakistan I think that's why today they are reaping fruits.

You can understand why some Pakistanis will have self-denial as it destroys their narrative of being "superior" to BD but why some BD'shi posters who join them in trolling BD with claims of fake BBS data when all major economic organisations verify this?

A couple are just semi-literate but others as well who can actually write in legible English!

I guess some minds will be impossible to understand.:undecided:

Anyway, like I keep saying, reality will play out in the real world and wishing thinking on pdf will not change anything.

To make 100k for a sale at a commission rate of 2.5%, the sell price needs to be 4 million. There are not many 4 million dollar houses and the ones that are 4 million and above, you don't get to sell those every month.

A few of them are highly educated, it's not really a case of little education, Bluesky being highly educated.

Bengalis generally tend to indulge in criticism, in any given matter you will see Bengalis dividing in many opinions, it's an intellectual trait of Bengalis and I love it. Then there are some others who presented a matter choose one opinion among an assortment of opinions in their own minds and once chosen they run with that opinion regardless, even if what they are doing is pacha dia pahar thela. Then there are the others who have their specific allegiances (lenja wala) and they pander to their allegiances. It's a varied bunch, instead of being infuriated, I read their arguments and try to understand the personality behind the computer reading their posts over a long period of time and trying to identify a pattern , it's much fun.

Bluesky is definitely not highly educated.

He is a labourer and not an engineer in the civil engineering field.

I am fine with having different opinions but when it is backed up with nothing but your own biases then it is self-destructive.

It is bizarre to think that BBS fakes data when everyone who matters in the economic field agrees with BD government figures.

Bluesky is highly educated and and experienced civil engineer and works/worked as a civil engineer in Japan for a long time.

And yes, I don't believe the BBS data fudging nonsense. The big people in those world organizations don't eat cow manure for lunch, dinner and breakfast.

No he is not. He said as much here.

He works alongside them in building structures - he cannot even do basic arithmetic as can be seen in his posts.

A civil engineer needs to be good at maths for obvious reasons.

Okay, I felt he is a civil engineer. I read his posts for a long time and in a very few posts he explained civil engineering matters in great detail, I don't expect people other than civil engineers being able to go to that level of detail. Having said that I could be wrong, anybody can be wrong.

You got your math wrong. It's 250 times Bangladesh. I hope the economic superpower of South Asia forgive us.

No he didn't. He calculated per capita. Wouldn't expect a street shitter to calculate things right.

Lol. Do you really think that the world (of investors) believe their trumped up per capita numbers? Potential of that country as perceived by the world is represented by their FDI and stock market investments. Bangladesh significantly lack in both.

Cope. We are better off than the average Indian.

Global Hunger Index ranks India at 101 out of 116 countries

I am willing to donate some leftover food from yesterday, what's your address?

Lol. per capita 30 times lower is absolutely shameful. Bangladesh does well in all metrics including education but where ever both these communities coexist (read western countries), Bangos come up last in the ladder and other at the top. Unfortunately BBS isn't there to make up for it. Now F off.
