Why do IN sub officer receive 25% more salary than other IN officers?

.
Try being stuck with a bunch of men underwater in a closed cramped space for 3 months.....

.
Mainly Because:

-Total lack of contact with the outside world for months.
-Total lack of privacy.
-Work that is highly stressful. It takes a lot of mental and physical hardship to remain hidden.
-An accident on board can easily turn fatal, with a slow painful death.
-Lack of basic amenities like showers, time to oneself or even regular sleep cycles [4 hour on/off shifts].
-Lastly, you need someone to serve on ships that are designed to sink :p

As Claustrophobic as I am, you could'nt pay me enough to work in a Submarine on aregular basis.

I may do it one time for adventure sake and thats it..even then I think I will not be able to do that 'battery checking' guy's job. Anyways SSBNs have more room.Typoon class even have a sauna.

i wont work in submarine if they give me million dollars...i salute our submariners for working in such harsh conditions...

.
That is called Hardship allowances along with the TA,DA Uniform etc..... Same goes for the men working in Siachen like places. Part of Pay commision but Submariners have kind of different scene....... It all comes to nature of job they do.
