Why do Chinese people particularly like red? What are the historical sources?

Yes.
Eastern Zhou Dynasty
770–255 BC

Han Dynasty
206 BC–220 AD

Tang Dynasty 618-917 AD
You know what unique colour for the Emperors of Song dynasty? That's White, which many Chinese people have no idea about it.

in our culture
red = prosperity, festival, progressive
yellow = authority and divine power

Very sad Ming dynasty has 2 great emperor only. Zhudi and Yongle. Subsequent are all terrible and useless.
As a matter of fact, many people today believe that the history of Ming dynasty had been modified by the Qing to legitimate their rules, which you could find so many terrible Ming Emperors, while the Ming reign was almost as long as Qing.

The next empire has the historic obligation to summarise the previous empire
in the 40-million-word-long official history records.

Such bias is quite normal I think.

Good summary.

Do you think this TV series about Song Dynasty's detectives was somewhat accurate in terms of colours?

.
China has adopted red as the main color long before your God was created and thousands of years before UK created your country.
India like China is an ancient country. India has 10,000 years of history, China only has 5000 years. When ancient Indians invented things we still use today ancient Chinese just started agriculture

White suits the Song emperor well. Song emperor we're famous for surrendering. Wearing white they can easily cut a piece of clothing and wave to the enemy to surrender

I haven't watch Song Dynasty's detectives before, but by looking at it I think the colour is quite alright, since Song dynasty favour red colour in general. The only thing I have to complain about Chinese dramas that was We Chinese hardly pay attention to our traditional clothing, we made up a lots of fake Chinese clothes in our movies and dramas. By comparing with Korea and Japan, we are so lag behind where they valued their traditional clothing much more than us. Especially the male counterpart of Ming clothing, the Korean only wore our clothing but today more people views the clothing is originally from Korea other than us, which is very sad.

You do know the mighty Emperors of Mongolian Empire at that time also wore the white colour for the clothing. If you want to troll, then get off and don't bother to reply me.

How about 架空历史?

At least they are Chinese dynasties, unlike those countries never existed in history until UK created some.

架空历史 is a fantasy, so there are no need to be too hard on it. To be honest, most Chinese dramas were so inaccurate on the traditional clothing, except those from Qing dynasty. However, Chinese traditional clothing changed everytime new dynasty came to power, so it must take lots more effort to be accurate in every single movie or drama. Not to mention, a lots of useful source about clothing were lost during the time of history. I'm no expert, but just say the sources of clothing before Tang dynasty are hard to find now. However, we still have alot sources about Ming clothing, so hopefully they will use it and improve it, since this is part of our valuable heritage.

That probably had to do with the Qing (a non-Han) being the last imperial dynasty. Qipao is generally more common than Hanfu in today's modern setting, but Han Chinese don't consider them to be 'legitimate' enough for cultural practices. It's common to see the Koreans and Japanese wearing traditional clothing for their festivals/ceremonies, but not for the Chinese.

.
I think you are right, because I'm one of them that consider traditional Qipao is Manchu clothing. One thing I have to make it clear that is there are people like me who distinguish the modern Qipao (the one from the Republic of China) from the traditional one (Qing Dynasty). Since the Chinese has a tradition to absorb other clothing to their new regime to create a new one, like in Tang and Ming dynasty. Furthermore, the modern female Qipao is quite different from the Qing dynasty one. So for me, the modern Qipao is belong to the whole Chinese, while the traditional one is not.

Yeah, China is the center of the world. Few hundred years back your ancestors were pagans worshipping pagans and spirit and stuff. Now little commi is talking about my god.

Which one is the real China though? ROC or PRC

Hilarious enough P stands for People(lol) R for f'ing Republic:omghaha:You commie's even know what is meant by Republic?
China (Cheena or Chin as known in this region) as a name existed thousands of years before. A geographical region just like India. You can apply the same logic when you say the UK created India. If there was anything that's left of once culturally rich China got killed off in the 10 years from 66 to 76 along with millions of people. Keep glorifying the same party that ended your civilization. Now, it's a westoxified (words adopted from Kaptaan) country with western values and ideas.

China adopted Communism as a means to keep powers within a group with their own private forces called PLAAN (Which pledge allegiance to the communist party and not China). You are meant to be ruled, that's what you have been and you always will be. Now spin more tales on India and try to Chinerise Communism by excuses like Chinese loved red and xyz emperor had red undies and headcloth.
