The guy whoever wrote this is completely misguided.
1) 1st Misconception : Pakistan isn't of the same size as Bangladesh
Pakistan Area: 796,095 km2
Bangladesh Area: 147,570 km2
Pakistan is almost 7 times larger than Bangladesh
2) 2nd Misconception: Pakistan and Bangladesh are in the same region
Sir when it comes to international affairs, Pakistan and Afghanistan are not considered part of South Asia, they have coined a new term which the G8 nations follow known as "Greater Middle East"...Traditional middle east started from Pak-Iran border and ended on Egyptian-Lybian border but since 9/11 the new "Greater Middle East is all the way from Morrocco upto Pakistan and Central Asia is also sometimes included.
Pakistan has no cultural link with Bangladesh, cuz its a muslim country far away...its like saying we have a cultural link with Jordan or Iraq or Indonesia( Pak-Bangladesh distance is almost 2000-2500 km..if we travel westwards from Pak we will reach Jordan or Iraq). Pakistan's ethnic communities have cultural links with Punjabis and Kashmiris in India, Pushtuns in Afghanistan, Balochis in Iran...Bangladesh, Srilanka etc are a completely different region with different culture...subcontinent was a term coined by Imperial Power of the time to control this area and today's Imperial Power calls it Greater Middle East.
You can well imagine from the fact that Afghanistan-Pakistan region (which Americans consider in Greater Middle East) comes under US Central Command, while India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka come under US Pacific Command.
We were directly affected by war in Afghanistan when Soviets or Americans invaded, Pakistan was directly involved in Kashmir and Indian Punjab insurgency...why cuz Pak had cultural links to these regions. Imagine if today Bangladesh and Nepal go to war, no one will even be affected in Pakistan..rather no one will even think about it cuz it has nothing to with Pakistan a region which means Punjab, Afghania (old name of KPK province), Kashmir, Sindh, baluchisTAN !!!
