easy now, I am the graduate of IIUI when its campus used to be in the blue area. we had an even mix of people from all Pakistan & Kashmir, we did have devout Muslims and some were just ordinary.
yes there were some very intolerant and violent sort of students in the main campus and hostels but that was given when the IIUI is mainly funded by UAE and Saudis, what do you expect? having said that we had ones who did all the things that are not very Islamic.
back to the topic
its amazing that the police was able to find the culprit. by the way where does it leave the b@stradized judiciary, its hell bent on punishing Musharaf over Benazir's murder.
talking about short memories
recall how the media and some politicians were jumping up and down saying why army is not raiding Red mosque , that has killed a rangers soldier, is abducting people , ransacking public offices and destroying shops etc.
and once it was done, the media played the main role of fanning the hatred and chaos
This is what happens when a soldier gets deluded from the establishment.. thats' why we have rebels.. its a fine line between a rebel and a terrorist and people never know when they have jumped the line.
I guess the same applies to Pakistani posters too?Indian posters on PDF do not realize that so many silent Pakistani readers look at you as the "ambassadors" of India. The more childish the Indian behavior, the worst it is for the impression of Indians.
Hope you get the point.

The bigger question is why did the soldier(the colonel) sell out his country and people? There is nothing worse than a soldier who turns against the very country and people he had sworn to protect!
This is what happens when you allow fascist ideologies like the Salafi doctrine to infect the narrative - the military rank and file were clearly not immune.

The military was and is complicit in this fascist crime..from Zia to Kayani!
It has lost its legitimacy as a secular institute.
No. According to her he was a terrorist. Because he is non muslim. But osama...oooooh a mard-e-momin, who can satisfy 4 wives at his older age is a freedom fighter. got it ?
I have been a lurker for a while and it's kinda hard for me to grab what exactly is it that's keeping the very fabric of Pakistan glued together. It's a genuine question and not a flame bait or anything. People here are divided on ethnicity, race, sects, language, political parties. what exactly is it because in my limited knowledge i don't thing it's religion.
Simple answer!
99.99% army jawans and officers are fighting for Pakistan.
--- That keeps the country together.
0.001% else bad eggs get all the publicity on PDF and news media.
peace
This is a million dollar question.
Here is a very high level view of two standard lines as to how our nation is setting up "desired behavior" from our army
by blasting out of our media, mosques, schools and universities and on the street.
1. Communist standard line: Do not ever do or say anything that will HELP American aims in the region
2. Islamist standard line: Do not ever do or say anything that will HURT Islamists aims in the region
It is tragic that there is no "Patriotic standard" line being discussed in the media, in the universities, in the mosques, and on the street.
Ask what you can do to keep the army patriotic to Pakistan
Ask what you can do to support Pak army even when it takes actions that indirectly help Aemricans
Ask what you can do to support Pak army even when it takes actions that indirectly hurt Islamists
