Both are dumb.Also I am frustrated with the Environmental Ministry meddling in such strategic projects. They already said no to our future hyro power projects. Our power minister is saying that if this situation continues we will face severe power problems...who will give us power then? Will central govt assure us of all our future power needs.

Don't speak like stupid the case in supreme court and panel members told no better route for Sethusamudram project. Verdict will favours project within few years it will materialize for sure. The key is the Vizhinjam deep sea port in Kerala.

Kerala is not that rich like TN . For building such ports state suppose to spent huge money for infrastructure, transportation , manpower etc.. I don't think Kerela could afford those things.

Tuticorin is already a port and its in TN so they opted I think.

MUMBAI: The Kerala government is likely to invite fresh bids for the Vizhinjam Port after the state government found it unviable to provide a grant as requested by the sole bidder for the project - a consortium led by Welspun group.

The consortium was the lone bidder to operate the project after the home ministry denied permission to Adani Ports to participate in the bid. Welspun had asked the state government for a grant of Rs 479 crore which was later revised to less than Rs 400 crore.

I don't know how many times tenders were invited for this project. Before a consortium of Indian & Chinese companies was selected in 2006, but Central Govt raised objections on the involvement of Chinese companies and these companies was dropped.

AFAIK its the Central Shipping ministry that administers large ports and hence I would think its they who build them also. Not the state gov

Central govt. allocate funds to some extent remaining things state should take care of , have to seen Gujarat port? did central govt. funded for that infrastructure?. If Kerala can able handle that port means just give that proposal , why state govt. hesitating to do it.

Private players are waiting in the wings to develop Vizhijam. Everybody knows thats due to its strategic importance, its a potential goldmine..all State Govt has to do is be smart , efficient and back the private players and all Central Govt has to do is stop meddling using their environmental ministry and also don't give the excuse of national security like in 2006 when a consortium of Indian & Chinese companies were selected..

It is the BJP, VHP and saffron brigade who had politicized the issue and termed it Ram Sethu built by the army of Lord Rama and even Put the PIL in the supreme court.

Gulf of Mannar is a sea biosphere but there no such things at Vizijam still central govt. stop meddling using its environmental ministry damn hypocrites..... in addition congress regime at Kerala so sad man. You can believe whatever you want.
