‘Why can’t you respect our religious values?’: Kashmiris react to news of beef ban

. .
I agree that this is often used as an excuse but it does not absolve us from responsibility at home. We musty protect Hindus and not have laws like this in Pakistan. Hindus at least should be allowed to eat pork, most of all they should be allowed to cremate their dead and set their ashes off in one of our rivers.

Lets not do what the Indians do to us in Hyderabad Lucknow and Kashmir.
Even not all hindus eat Pork. and you are talking about 1-1.5 million Hindus, while on other side of border this number is 300 million muslims. make difference.

.
So india is a hindu state, thanks for accepting the truth.

Bettet stop this secularism drama .

Even more silly. Do you even understand what secularism is? In any case, this is a law that applies only to Kashmir, the fact that rest of India may have a Hindu majority has nothing to do with it. Any ban/restrictions on beef will be decided only by the states concerned, nothing for the central government to do.

.
Islam was always here ,it might have been new to pagan plains of Indus valley but did not originate with prophet Mohammed (pbuh) it existed long before that and is the oldest reliion so your entire premise is false
Hinduism has always been there..to be more precise it started on the day when lord Vishnu in matsya avatara(fish form) rescued the first human Manu.Hinduism started the day God has intended to create the universe.

His line of argument reminds me of Sonam Kapoor's "misogyny" tweet on meat ban.

Acha

. . . .
No body eats porks in pakistan. 96 percent are Muslim, 2.5 percent hindus dont eat meat and the rest all are negligible and no one has ever protested in Pakistan on this issue.

There are non-muslim humans in Pakistan.
If you allow them to eat porc, you have earned the right to complain on a beef ban in India.
If not, then complaining makes you a hypocrite.

Please elaborate this line.

The founding fathers of the Indian state were aware that the constitution they were preparing did not fully follow the concept of secularism as understood then (the European version was the only known one). The idea of an Indian version of secularism had no meaning because it didn't exist at that time,. The founding fathers understood that acts like allowing Muslims to have their own civil code were non-secular in nature as well as other compromises that they made, including allowing for cow slaughter to be banned by the states if they chose to, even if the reason used was not directly pointed out as religion driven (India was then an overwhelmingly rural country, cattle was accorded some protection). By the 1970's, an Indian version of secularism has taken hold & this did allow for the preamble to be changed with logic backing it.

The Indian constitution has at its core, secular ideals but the founding fathers resisted from specifically calling the state such even though they were in no doubt that the state would follow largely secular ideals even if a few compromises had to be made to accommodate different points of view..
