Why can’t women ride motorbikes in Pakistan?

do women get bashed or abused for riding motorbikes in pakistan??

this is a serious question.. because i believe some muslim countries dont allow woman to drive cars true??

Only in Saudi Arabia AFAIK..rest of the muslims countries allow women to drive cars...Pakistan Air Force even have women flying fighter jets and Pakistan Army has Women at ranks of Major and Lt General.It's a cultural thing.Women prefer to drive cars and the low income family female members usually travel by bus.

i guess even here, women probably get a few looks riding motorbikes,,, it seen more of a mans type of thing.. although that is changing.... but here most people ride 500cc and above

NEW DELHI: Believe it or not when it comes to gender inequities India fares worse than Pakistan. In fact, the country fares lower than all other countries in South Asia save Afghanistan. These are the findings of the 2010 Human Development Report released by the United Nations Development Programme on Thursday as per its Gender Inequality Index.

So while Pakistan may be in the news for its treatment of women and might have become a hot bed for international women's activism, it certainly seems to know how to take care of its mothers better. On maternal mortality, India -- with its abysmal record -- trails Pakistan.





It may be an emerging economic powerhouse, but as far as the state of women is concerned, India needs a lot of catching up to do with neighbours such as Pakistan and Bangladesh.

According to the Human Development Report 2011, India ranks 129 out of 146 countries on the Gender Inequality Index, below Bangladesh and Pakistan, which are ranked at 112 and 115, respectively.
