They want to keep control in their society hence they control their women. When society is out of control many social ills are borne. Falsely blaming them for oppression of women, look at other cultures in which bearing and raising children is viewed as a burden a hindrance to the lives of professional women. Hence women should take up the roles which are designated by nature.

Maybe they don't want a society like other cultures so their culture should be left alone if change is to come let it come from within their society.

Yeah. Let's blame the Afghan women then.

Having a society in 'order' is different than brutally control the other (weak) sect. Didn't Muhammad told Muslims to be moderate? :smokin: Follow your ultimate leader atleast. Don't become 'out of control' but don't go to other extreme as well.

Malaysia , Indonesia , Turkey etc are definitely better models than Afghanistan.

Yes, the only way to stop that is to beat women and keep them in the basement :D

Actually, I find you to make a lot of sense. In a society which has been ravaged by war, a very uneducated society, a society which has seen so much lost, its only natural to want to retain one's traditions, no matter how dogmatic.

Exactly, let them be, let Afghanistan and its society develop itself and its own pace. No need to impose foreign systems and foreign ideologies on them, Afghanistan is very misrepresented in the media and media portrays all Afghan men as mysiongist and abusive towards women. They're are men like that everywhere I understand life for Afgan women is tough but it is also tough for men there as well.

Afghan society will improve on its own.

Yeah, look at aaaaaaaaaaaallll that progress Afghan society has made over the last thousand years or so. Impressive, right?

Then let Afghanistan find the best path for it self, just like Turkiye did it for itself, Indonesia did it for itself, and so on.

This is my point in the thread, stop lecturing Afghanistan on how they should have their society.

That's not a fair way of looking at it. Also Afghanistan wasn't always poor they once had formidable empires, but that is not the piint of this thread. Though Afghanistan in the 1970's was fairly moderate in urban areas and developing, better women's rights and rights for citizens.

Best to let them take their own path and fix their internal problems and develop a society that suits them.

Does that include the ISI? Will they leave Afghanistan alone?

ISI doesn't lecture Afghans on how to live, don't talk rubbish now.

Please send ISI a memo to that effect.

. .
What about other more relevant parties occupying Afghanistan? Okay to send them a memo too?

Of course. But please keep in mind that Afghanistan was the ISI's playground exclusively from the time the Russians left till just after 9/11. Look at what it incubated there, which is now being resolved. The other relevant parties were only forced to step in.
