What's new

Why aren't these LOC??

.
Ladakh is literally celebrating that its a UT now...so is Jammu...
All the issue is with valley.
But hey, at the time of independence Pak wasnt happy with India taking Hyderabad even though population wanted it but the muslim ruler wanted Pak, why should India give up valley?

What is this logic. India took Hyderabad by force because population is mostly Hindus while its ruler wanted to go with Pak and India also took valley because ruler wanted to go with India while its population was mostly muslim.

Right on, as i said previously, everyone and his dog has an opinion on Kashmir now.

Fortunately, that MP matters much more than any random guy in Lahore or delhi

That MP doesn't represent sentiments of a large section of Muslims of ladakh

So yeah. He doesn't matter for us. Screw him

.
What one does with his religion is between gis god and him.

and this is all you've got? stop bullshitting here then...

Similar to what happens to Kashmir sgould be between Kashmiris, not india pakistan.

You guys do not belong here.

And that is why Pakistan wants referendum for Kashmiris in Kashmir so that the Kashmiris decide what they want and how they want and by revoking special status of Kashmir, India has denied referendum for Kashmiris.

When the outsiders from other states of India started settling in Kashmir, we all know who and what they'll vote for if there will be any referendum. And that kind of referendum will never be accepted by Pakistan and Pakistani people.

I

Anyways given what India has done, you can rest easy that there is nothing left for you to do, short of war which we know nobody gonna risk their neck doing.

Well what India has done is a suicide. War is not the solution, country like Pakistan cant afford a long term war. I am sure once the curfew is lifted people will come out on the streets of Srinagar celebrating. This indian mentality as if they have conquered something by tearing the Constitution is dangerous and shameful. But than again India has nothing to to display, esp after 2 fighter jets were shot down by Pakistan. Such gimmicks will be done by BJP government to entertain ordinary indian dying of hunger like the 8000 farmers who committed suicide last year due to poverty.

Many towns and villages in Jammu are still Muslim majority. Shopian where all the protests are for example.

No.

Everyone should read this survey done by a British Based research institute of some repute. It was done at the behest of Saif Al Gaddafi, Libyan Qaddafi's son.

Results are quite informative.

@Areesh

There has been a lot of discussion over this 2010 survey commissioned by Dr Saif al Islam al Qadhafi and designed by Dr Bradnock and Ipsos Mori , .. .. One should first try to understand the purpose behind this survey and the "faults" in the techniques used ...

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is a self-governing state under Pakistani control, but under Pakistan's constitution the state is not actually part of Pakistan . Azad Jammu and Kashmir covers an area of 13,297 square kilometr . Azad Kashmir has its own elected President, Prime Minister, Legislative Assembly, High Court . (44% of people want independence according to the survey , when they are already independent !!)

Gilgit–Baltistan is an autonomous self-governing region that was established as a single administrative unit in 1970, formed by the amalgamation of the Gilgit Agency, the Baltistan region and the former princely states of Hunza and Nagar. It covers an area of 72,971 km²

Pakistani-controlled part of the former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir is made up of AJK & Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit-Baltistan was not included in this survey

Only 3,700 people were interviewed out of a total population of 15 million . (i.e 0.025% of total population)

Without any survey one can tell that areas of Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, Kargil and Leh are not pro independence areas; yet all these areas were included in the survey and other militancy hit and pro independence areas like Doda, Pulwama and Kupwara were left out of the survey.

It is surprising, rather shocking that in places like Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur and Kathua not a single person supported an independent Kashmir. Some of these areas have sizable Muslim minority; It is very likely that those who ‘administered' the survey only approached non Muslims in the survey.

The vote in favour of independence was as high as 95% in some districts. To bring this very high percentage of vote in favour of independence down to acceptable or desired level, important pro independence areas were deliberately left out of the survey; and all anti independence areas were included in the survey.

It is also interesting to note that 77% of people of Indian side of Kashmir believe that ‘an end to all militant violence in Kashmir will help to end the conflict over Kashmir'. It is also interesting that the highest support in favour of ‘an end to all militant violence' came from the Valley, with Baramulla showing 91% support, Badgam 92%, Srinagar 84% and Anantnag 98% respectively. Some areas of Pakistani Administered Kashmir also showed high support for this, for example, Bagh had 75% support and Mirpur had 72 %. From this side of the LOC, Kotli showed the least support for this, 27%.In Jammu province, Rajouri showed 0%, Poonch 3%, Jammu 64%, Udhampur 97% and Kathua 98% support. Kargil showed 81% and 87 % support for this

The option of ‘Liberalised Line of Control' attained amazing support in the survey. From Kargil the survey showed 100% support for this option, Leh 81%; Srinagar 83%, Baramulla 81%, Anantnag 81%, Badgam 74%; Kathua 93%, Jammu 79%, Udhampur 66%, Rajouri 99% and Poonch 99%.

In Pakistani Administered Kashmir the support for this option was as follows: Muzaffarabad 95%, Sudanhoti 97%, Bagh 81%, Bhimber 87%, Mirpur 87%, Poonch 97% and Kotli 98%.

It looks the powers that be want to push the Kashmir dispute in favour of this option

No results can be drawn if opinion of only 0.025% of total population is considered, And selective areas and communities are questioned to achieve desired results .

Many towns and villages in Jammu are still Muslim majority. Shopian where all the protests are for example.

Shopian is in Kashmir valley, the south Kashmir as they call it inside Kashmir valley. Inside Kashmir valley they differentiate the Kashmir valley between three regions, The North Kashmir which comprises Kupwara and Baramula and adjoing areas, The central Kashmir which is Srinagar and Badgam area and south Kashmir which is Pulwama, Anantnag and Shopian areas.

The muslim majority areas in jammu division are Poonch, Rajauri, Kishtwar, Reasi and Doda areas.

I fail to understand how you guys assume Pakistan wanting anything is different from India wanting anything, both do not matter, but in the world we live in this is what it jas come to.

Anyways given what India has done, you can rest easy that there is nothing left for you to do, short of war which we know nobody gonna risk their neck doing.

nothing left for me or us to do? are you smoking hash? lets talk common sense, what India has done, Pakistan can do it much more easily in AJK and GB and make GB a fifth province of Pakistan and AJK also a part of Pakistan but this is not the way to go.

Secondly, international border line is international only when the parties on both side of that border line agree with each other regarding that border line. if not agreed, it is sometimes called ceasefire line, sometimes line of control and sometimes line of actual control, and the area divided by that disputed border line is called disputed region which in other words mean that, whatever law India has made or revoked regarding that disputed region which India claims as her territory does not matter because the other party on the other side of that disputed line known as Pakistan never accepted it at the very beginning. And that is the reason LOC is a battleground for both countries and will stay that way for decades to come. Whoever is more powerful will get his desired goals.

Thirdly, by revoking special status of IOK, India has done no damage to Pakistan but actually proved two-nation theory of Pakistan to be valid. Now it is up to the people of IOK to decide what they want.

If they want to live under Nazi Indian rule, be my guest, if they want to separate from them, now is the time.

As DG ISPR said, we as Pakistan support the just struggle of Kashmiri people and will always do that just like we support the just struggle of Palestine.

.
Even the Hindus of Jammu are not happy with the loss of autonomy and the prospect of being overwhelmed by cow belt Indian immigration. The Jammu area hasn’t really got the space or environment to accomodate a huge arrival.

Do you really think people of rest of India will flock enmasse to JK as it is jibed in anti India outlets??? Think about a scenario, where people from rest of the countrt and Odisha...I do not see people all around the places of India coming to Odisha even if they can buy property...JK is a war zone...even if Gov offers free land, why some one will go from their native without any tangible benifit??
People travel to Bangalore/Delhi and Mumbai for job???What will they get if they relocate to Kashmir valley???

It doesnt matter what he means to you, he leads Kasmiris not you.

No he doesn't lead Kashmiris

Right, must be leading Nigerians who elected him.

Meanwhile Kashmiris are lead by some

Remove the curfew and see for yourself how much people kashmir agree with this sellout

As I said he is anybody but their representative

But regarding Pakistanis doing wjat India did, haven't they done that already by incorporating GB as a state, and moving punjabis into that narrow piece of funnily called land AJK.
