Why are we allowing an Indian road link to pass through Bangladesh?

LOL, this thread is funny. I rarely visit your section, but comments of this thread made me LMAO
Viva to Bangladeshis :enjoy:
BTW, do you guys like west bengalis or not?

This is the funniest comedy section of PDF. Mostly anti-Bangladesh pro-Pakistan anti-India 'radical' members who belong to a particular political party 'Jamaat-E-Islami' which is currently in trial for war crimes during Bangladesh liberation war come here to show their anger towards India and pro-Indian party Awami League. So these people will find 'Indian conspiracy' even if they fart. :omghaha:

We like West Bengal but religion is different. Due to religion we separated but culturally we are same apart from religious customs. We love our West Bengali brothers.

leave jamati tag, what is wrong with a road that interconnects neighbouring countries. We are trying to connect to myanmar-thailand too, so that it will be easy to transport goods.

you should visit bd section more often. Just go through old threads if you want.

most countries are she, except perhaps germany. :)
If you want to build a road link to Burma and Thailand then do so through Northeast India. You are not going through us. These days it's cheaper to use air freight anyway.

Nothing wrong with a road, but a road and what next? But the amount of propaganda and blind faith on this forum is ridiculous. End of the day, you can't make someone think the same as you.

Indians don't give a shit about one another as they are the most ethnocentric people in the world. So why does Bangladesh care what happens to India? Hasina needs to be got rid of, before she sells out the country. By the way, I don't agree you have to be friendly to neighbouring countries anymore. We now live at a time when you can completely bypass neighbouring countries and trade with others further afield.

The connection between Northwest and Northeast of India. Why should they be able to pass through another sovereign nation? Hasina is selling out Bangladesh.

ONGC has sign contracts to explore for oil and gas off Bangladesh and because of this only an Indian road link .

What about the already existing transshipment of good to the north eastern states of India via Bangladesh, at a massively discounted cost, Bangladesh has already given more then what India bargained for, where is our due share of the money and water, has India taken any steps regarding these issues?

Mamaata is creating problems in water issues but that problem will be solved in in some years.Always remeber neither India nor BD is giving a favour to each other.

.
Why do you have a problem? Won't this road also be used byBangladeshis ? You are getting free infrastructure enjoy it

Yes, i agree that initially, it was supposed to be a win-win situation. But at the end who got the bigger part of the pie? the corridor already serves hundreds of heavy trucks and lorries if not thousands travelling to the NE states, rivers are utilized for carrying heavy machinery. Whereas our part of the deal didnt come through, you see the internal political scenario of India is no headache of a Bangladeshi, who's being an obstacle to the initial proposal isnt out matter to deal with. At the end of the day, all we know is India didnt come through with its part of the obligations specified in the agreement. This is one of the various reasons behind BD-Indo mistrust.

Nope, the loan that ur talking about comes with strings attached, majority of the $1bn is dedicated to the construction of trans-nation raliway from the very end of Myanmar till NE India through Bangladesh. The remaining part is allocated for construction of culverts and bypasses on the highways that ensure uninterrupted transport from one point to the other. So u see my filthy rich Indian fellow, we arent getting shit for free. :)

The mutual water sharing treaty, where the flow of water from the Himalayas will not be diverted by any man made structure, which has/is being violated till this day, first with the Farakkha, now the ongoing Tipaimukh and each day this goes on is a failure on India's part to live upto its commitments. Due to the friendly terms between the two govts of our countries no headway has been made till now. But the people are weary of these one sided treaties, a change at the top level would definitely shake things up.

Its not selling out. Its strategic partnership between two nations. India has only 14 miles land connecting North east India to rest of India. If they were given road corridor in Bangladesh they will use it for developments in North East regions. Also Indian ministry says Bangladesh's vehicles will be given permission to use Indian roads for Nepal, Bhutan and to do business in whole India.

India should always play elder brotherly role to Bangladesh even if some jamaatis badmouth about India. Do you hate your younger brother? India-Bangladesh relationship is like elder brother-younger brother relationship. Its a life long relationship.
But we call Bangladesh she and India he. Okay, India-Bangladesh relationship is like husband-wife relationship. A life long relationship.
First you said we are your Elder Brother than Husband Wife

WTF man you are killing relations

. .
One member said India can not be brother to Bangladesh. So I said okay consider it as husband of Bangladesh.
And now if i said that India can not be Husband of India and than what will you consider India?? Father of Bangladesh or Grand Father of Bangladesh :rofl:
