That news was false. Pakistan never acquired these tanks from serbia. Pakistan transferred older Type 69 and others. Some are being used a stationary fring posts. They can take hit from RPGs so are very effective.

Very good, accurate gun, limited only by prehistoric stabiliser, and sights. The most powerful 100-105mm weapon out there.

All Generation 2 tanks are effective against terrorists like Taliban who at best have RPGs.

A type 59 or 69 will not stop an RPG (depends on the round being fired) unless equipped with some sort of cage armor or ERA. Not even an Al-Zarrars turret can stop one without ERA or Add-ons.

The Type 69s and 59s were transferred to FC ages ago, the T55Ms are a lot more modern than both and may have been to replace those, but the deal does not seem to have happened.

Original T 55 had first generation composite armour in the front: alterating nitrile rubber-steel plate layers. First type 59 had RHA. Very late, nineties upgrades put ceramic inserts in the front.
